QUeeNs ColleGe opeNs doorsAs inspiring as the members of our faculty are, we know that top students look beyond the classroom for a well-rounded education. Queens College opens up avenues for you to explore other exciting realms—on a research ship, on wall street, wherever your talents may take you. our internship Center’s database tracks more than 1,200 opportunities, and interns earn academic credit and often more: the average internship stipend at the college is $1,200-$1,500. www.qc.cuny.edu/internships

YoU CAN shApe the fUtUre—YoUr owN ANd the world’sWe learn so that we may serve is Queens College’s motto, and one of the best ways to learn is through service. service learning and leadership opportunities, many with academic credit, abound on campus. build homes with habitat for humanity in New orleans during an alternative spring break, go on a Midnight run to feed the homeless, become a big buddy, visit pediatric hospitals with the big Apple Circus.

the college is also part of the new CUNY service Corps, in which hundreds of our students spend 24 weeks in paid, part-time positions working on projects that address public health, education, the environment, and other areas. www.qc.cuny.edu/servicecorps

And you may even be eligible for a CUNY study abroad stipend. www.qc.cuny.edu/studyabroad

if travel is not in your plans, you can still explore the world on campus as students from over 150 countries call Queens College home. this makes our campus an exciting place to be, where a wealth of cultures and perspectives come together in an environment of

respect and commitment to learning. in addition, each year the college’s “Year of” program focuses on the history, politics, and culture of one nation, with recent yearlong studies of China, turkey, india, and brazil.

we know that you want to earn a degree to be able to make your mark on the world, and we are here to see that you will.

QUeeNs ColleGe is experieNCed As A series of revelAtioNswhether they commute or live on campus, our students often say that just when they think they’ve got us figured out, something new comes along to alter their sense of the college.

one of the most unexpected things about Queens College is that it is a city college with a beautiful 80-acre campus. You may see a camel there, or a juggler, or a deejay, because our central Quad also serves as our town square where almost anything can—and often does—happen.

our campus, just 20 minutes from Manhattan, is located in flushing, with its dazzling array of shops and

dining spots. the borough of Queens is also home to the New York Mets, the U.s. open tennis tournament, and numerous cultural attractions, including Queens College’s louis Armstrong house Museum.

perhaps the best way to experience the college is to get involved in the more than 100 clubs and organizations on campus that offer you a chance to explore your interests and meet people who share them. we have everything from the Model UN team to the science fiction and Animation Club.
