STUDENTS HAVE A LOT OF HOME WORK TO PREPARE

AND VERY OFTEN THEY ARE NOT ABLE TO DEDICATE ENOUGH TIME TO QUALITATIVELY STUDY EACH SUBJECT

OR EVEN THEY DON’T PREPARE THEIR

HOME ASSIGNMENTS AT ALL.

1. We made two questionnaires: one for students and one for teachers. The questionnaire related to: number of hours spent for home assignment, number of tasks per each subject, the way to prepare (quickly or qualitatively), level of tiredness after completing the whole homework, number of homework items efficient to enforce the studied material, etc.

2. WE INVOLVED 35 STUDENTS AND 15 TEACHERS FROM OUR SCHOOL,

ASKING THEM TO FILL-IN THE QUESTIONNAIRE.

AND FOUND OUT THAT :A LOT OF TEACHERS CONSIDER THAT THE

HOME WORK SHOULD INCLUDE AT LEAST 3 EXERCISES TO UNDERSTAND THE TOPIC. THEY

THINK THAT THIS PROJECT CAN IMPROVE STUDENTS' SUCCESS, BUT THERE IS A RISK THAT SOME STUDENTS WOULD BECOME

LAZY.

PER AVERAGE STUDENTS PREPARE DAILY THEIR HOMEWORK DURING 5HOURS.

THEY SAY THEY OFTEN HAVE TO CHOOSE ONLY ONE SUBJECT TO GET READY FOR

THE NEXT DAY, SINCE THEY HAVE TO PREPARE MANY TASKS FOR 6-7 SUBJECTS

IN ONE EVENING. THE SUBJECTS THAT STUDENTS HAVE A LOT TO LEARN ARE: HISTORY, MATHEMATICS, BIOLOGY AND

PHYSICS.

THE QUANTITY IS NOT THE QUALITY!!!

THUS, OUR EDUCATION SYSTEM HAS TO MAKE SOME CHANGES TO AVOID FRUSTRATION AND TIREDNESS IN LEARNING… AND HOMEWORK MIGHT BE ONE ITEM TO START WITH.
