We provide the highest possible standard of care, driven by our philosophy that each staff member provides the same level of carethat they Would Want for theiroWn loved ones.the marlay nursing home was built in 2006. custom-designed and built to luxurious standards, the marlay is situated on four acres of woodland on land that was formerly part of st. columba’s college.

Whilst our building is new, our senior management and staff have many years’ experience caring for older people. our staff is trained to the very highest standards, providing 24-hour care in a professional and friendly manner. We provide the highest possible standard of care, driven by our philosophy that each staff member provides the same level of care that they would want for their own loved ones.

our philosophy at the marlay is very simple - we will do our very best to ensure that our residents experience a quality of life that is as close as possible to the warm and secure environment that they are accustomed to in their own home. the happiness of our residents is at the core of everything we do.

our aim is to ensure that ourresidents receive the very higheststandard of care in an environment that is appropriate for their needs.the marlay is located close to the m50 and looks across the magnificent marlay park. the three-storey home has 124 en suite private bedrooms with spacious lounge and dining areas that look out on an internal courtyard with landscaped garden.

all bedrooms have modern profile beds, en suite bathrooms, fitted wardrobes, 24-hour nurse call system, flat screen television and telephone. We encourage residents to bring personal belongings, photographs and small items of furniture. a feature of the home is the magnificent sitting rooms, library with computer and an oratory.

the care provided at the marlay ranges from long term care through to respite and convalescence. the profiles of the residents are those who require care because they are physically frail and need assistance and those who may be suffering from dementia/alzheimers disease. our aim is to ensure that our residents receive the very highest standards of care in an environment that is appropriate for their needs, whilst, at the same time, showing respect and empathy to the individual thus ensuring their well being.

each resident has his or her oWn regularly-updated care plan. this plan is carefully designed to cater for each resident’s individual needs.the marlay nursing home provides 24 – hour skilled nursing and medical care. each resident has the choice of continuing to use their own general practitioner but with the knowledge that they have the support of our house doctor and doctor-on-call service. our residents have an individual, regularly updated care plan. this plan is carefully designed to cater for each resident’s individual needs and is established with input from the resident, their family, the g.p. and the nursing staff. a holistic approach is taken to all residents involving the expertise of the multidisciplinary team.

all residents are encouraged to lead as active a lifestyle as possible. We encourage and support our residents to continue whatever hobbies they may have had before coming to the marlay. under the careful eye of our full-time activities co-ordinators, activities, both in the home and outside, are designed to suit all tastes and interests. these include:

the spiritual needs of our residents are looked after by our attending chaplains (roman catholic) and local minister (church of ireland). other religious denominations are catered for as required.
