SPRING housecleanlng, tbat perennial flurry of domestic activity,
la over. Tbo bouse la quiet once more and everything Is temporarily In apple-pie order. The changes may have been minor, or may have been a complete redecorating Job. but something Is bound to be new and different, even If It’s Just the furniture arrangement.
Daylight time exposures can give you excellent Intorlor shots. I say “can" because whether they do or do not depends on you and how you handle the factors Involved.
First of all. think about composition, since that Is the reason you're making tbe picture. Leave the fur nlture In Its normal position as much as you possibly can without Interfering with your shooting plans. Make more than one picture. Choose several points from which to view the room. Don’t try to get everything Into one shot.
In selecting the shooting point, try to leave sufficient space between the camera and tbe nearest object so tbat only the floor can be seen In the Immediate foreground. Other wise, the nearby chair will seem much larger than Its twin on the
As In all time exposures, youtl want to place the camera on a tripod or other solid support. Select a spot for It that Is high enough so that more floor than celling shows In the view finder and thus avoid a
The length of your Ume exposure will, of course, depend on the amount of light In the room. If you are using extra-fast panchromatic film with an f/16 lens opening, on a bright day, the time—in terms of number of windows in tbe room—will be In 8 seconds tor one window: 4 seconds for two windows: and 2 seconds for

exposure, and It Is understandable that you may not be because of all the variable conditions Involved— be on the safe side and try two or three shots. Try it the way you think It should be: four times that long: and finally, shoot It at one-quarter

Clipping dairy cattle regularly is an economical and effective step in producing c!ean milk of hi"h qual-

Between Muddy Gap and Lander, V.'yo., within sight of the old Oregon Trail, the only jade mine in the western hemisphere is in operation
Out of the huge deposit—which is expected to result in a new market for the semi-precious stone —chunks three feet long, 18 inches wide and 18 inches deep have been
Previously, the use of jade has been limited to jewelry and carvings, or for small inlays in expensive furniture.
Development of the b;g Wyoming deposit means that the home build-, er who wants a touch of luxury or the designer of a building or theater which needs an "extra touch" can order jade in place of marble.
Harrison S. Cobb, Boulder, Colo., mine operator and partner to the American Jade Co., developer of the deposit, believes that the market is unlimited, although the supply still will be limited. Processing of the stone is expensive, since it must be cut out of the rough natural shapes by jewelers' tools.
A peculiarity of geology provided jade in a 15-bv-30-mile area in Wyoming—the only deposit of its kind known in North America. The fact
