Transcript of Qcl-14-v3_[problem-solving]_[banasthaliuniversity]_[Anu Vashisth]
Placement rate on your campus has sharply reduce over the past three years.
MISSION: Increase placement rate to 120 %
A managerial problem can be described as the gap between a
given current state of affairs and a future desired state. Problem
solving may then be thought of as the process of analyzing the
situation and developing a solution to bridge the gap.
Problem solving was popularized by W. Edwards Deming and
the expansion of the total quality management movement in the
1980s.
Introduction
Lack of soft skills in the students.
Increased rate of unemployment from past 3 years.
Poor Management skills in students.
Lack of attention from training and placement officers.
Poor practical knowledge of students.
Lack of technical knowledge in students.
Lack of analytical skills in students
Problem Definition
We acknowledged that due to previously mentioned symptoms are the chief causes of poor placement of students in campus from past 3 years.
Our mission is to increase the placement rate to 120 % by using proper methods and tools .
Reconfirmation of the mission
Flow chart :-A flowchart is a type of diagram that represents an
algorithm, workflow or process, showing the steps as boxes of
various kinds, and their order by connecting them with arrows.
Pareto diagram:-It is a type of chart that contains both bars
and a line graph, where individual values are represented in
descending order by bars, and the cumulative total is
represented by the line.
Cause and effect diagram:- are causal diagrams created by
Kaoru Ishikawa (1968) that show the causes of a specific event.
Analytical tools used in problem diagnosis
Decision tree:- A decision tree is a branching graph or model of
decisions and their possible consequences, including chance
event outcomes, resource costs, and utility.
Simulation:-Simulation is the imitation of a real-world process
or system over time.
Trend chart :-Trend charts are often used to display data over
time to explore any potential trends (either positive or negative)
that require additional attention by management.
Brainstorming:-Have a recorder list all the possible ideas from
the group as quickly as possible without any evaluation of
ideas.
Brain writing:-Each person records an idea or solution to the
problem on a piece of paper and adds it to a pile.
Nominal Group Technique:-Each member shares their ideas.
Nominal Group Technique:- Each member shares their ideas.
Problem remedy
Force-field Analysis:- Outline the strategies to minimize the
strength of the forces and develop an action plan to accomplish
the solution.
Criteria Matrix:- Develop a set of standards that each
alternative is judged on.
Democracy:-Provide each person with the same number of dot
stickers or pennies or tokens.
Bubble-up/Bubble-down:-Used for ranking statements or
ideas or putting ideas in a orderly sequence.
Through mentioned tools and methods for the solutions , we
can not only increase the placement rate of the campus but also
increase similar problems such as increase the rate of
personnel in defense.
We get to know about problem solving and its process involved
in it.
We get to know the tools to analysis the problem more clearly
and precisely.
We get to know about more new to solve problem.
