• Continued participation in Open House Events held on and off campus.
• Provided tours for 60-70 local high school students.
• Developed a partnership with YMCA, Rock High School, and RPTA Department to host minority high school students on campus 4 times during Spring 2018.
• Hosted Boys College Prep Program for 17 high school minority students.

Veterans
• QC campus received recognition as a VA site code. This designation has allowed for the Housing Allowance for veterans to be increased on average $400-$500 per month.
• Increased participation at local and regional recruiting events geared toward veterans.
• In partnership with St. Ambrose, EICC, and Black Hawk College, QC Veterans Conference was held on March 27th with over 100 attendees.
• Best Practices workshop held in conjunction with Macomb Veterans Resource Center.
• Veterans Breakfast was held in November.
• Serve on the University’s Military Task Force.

Orientations
Orientation programs continue to provide services and assistance to over 225 new students with their transition to Western. Program schedule:
- New Student Orientation for first-year students and transfers (6 programs, Jan & June-August)
- Special High School Orientations (4 programs, Cambridge HS, Rivermont, and Fulton HS)
- Support for New Grad Student Orientations (2 programs, August & January)

QCMP - Math & Science Program
In partnership with the Quad City Minority Partnership (QCMP) and the Engineering Department, Student Services hosted 20 minority students from local high schools to expose them to the field of Engineering with hands-on activities.
• Students were from the following high schools: Rock Island, Moline, United Township, Central, North, and West
• Seniors • GPA 3.0 and higher • Interest in STEM fields

Campus Wellness
• Student Services has increased efforts to promote health and wellness on the QC campus by offering the following:
- Weekly and free yoga classes - Discounted bowling at the Blackhawk Hotel in Davenport - Workshop on Mind, Body, and Soul presented by Psychology Club - Therapy Dog Days for Manage Your Stress Week - Free massages - Counseling Association organized free CPR training - Expanded flu and other preventive shot offerings with CVS and Rock Health Department - Discounts at local fitness and health facilities
• To improve vending options, QC campus entered into a new contract agreement with Vander Vending in August 2017.

•Diversity and Awareness
QC Cultural Alliance hosted its first speaker, Jose Soto, J.D., Vice President for Access Equity & Diversity at Southeast Community College in Lincoln, Nebraska. He presented on diversity challenges and benefits for the university and Quad Cities community on September 21st. This event was open to students, faculty, staff, and the general public.
In Fall 2017, QC Cultural Alliance, Student Services, and the Department of Counselor Education organized a presentation and discussion on “Challenges Facing Muslim and Latino Students.” Attendees were engaged in frank and honest conversations while being exposed to each culture through traditional cuisine.

• Diversity and Awareness
• In support of National Coming Out Day, QC campus continues to hold its ‘Big Picture.’ Each year, the event continues to grow.
• QC campus will hold its 3rd Annual Art Show, which will focus on Ancestors. This is a partnership between QC Cultural Alliance, Student Services, and the Museum Studies Department. In April 2017, 30 people attended the Art Show and 4 pieces were sold.
• In partnership with Quad Citians Affirming Diversity, Student Services helped to staff an information table at Pride Fest in September 2017.
• Held Safe Schools Conference in December.

• Disability Support
• Provided a wide range of services for students, faculty, and staff to accommodate the needs of individuals with disabilities. Support services included: assistive technology, alternative format documents, note takers, and other reasonable accommodations. Other activities included:
- 41 students served in Fall and Spring (down 8%). - Planned CinemAbility movie screening on campus and a Skype Q and A with Director Jenni Gold. - Active ADA committtee member. - Participated in FASPAS training and Disability Culture Day. - Assisted with the planning and implementation of the Bi-State College Transition Conference at Black Hawk College for approximately 75 high school students.
