Chicago, IL - Q87.7 (WKQX-LP 87.7 MHz Chicago) has announced details of its first summer concert – PIQNIQ. First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre will be the venue for a ten-band, two-stage all- day music festival on Saturday, June 29 th , 2013. Headlining PIQNIQ will be Yeah Yeah Yeahs, who recently received rave reviews for their show-stealing performances at Coachella. Also appearing on the main stage are Bush, AWOLNATION, Silversun Pickups and Atlas Genius. The day begins with performances on the second stage by Cold War Kids, twenty | one | pilots, New Politics, Capital Cities and Maximum Hedrum. Q87.7 Operations Manager Jim Richards said, “Clearly, there’s an appetite for festival shows, especially in Chicago – the home of Lollapalooza. We’re excited and proud to offer our listeners a day full of live music from established and emerging artists. I really appreciate all of the bands for making this inaugural event bigger than any of us expected.” PJ, Program Director added, “Any time you can offer a show with 10 bands for as little at $10, it’s a win. We also didn’t want to waste any time, so the pre-sale started the moment the show was announced.
