CHECKOUT & TEST 74-4081-2 Q7055C1034, Q7055C1035 Fire Network Adapters (FNA3) GENERAL The Q7055C1034 and Q7055C1035 Fire Network Adapters (FNA3) provide a UL 864 listed interface between Honeywell XLS140 and XLS3000 fire alarm systems and Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator TM (EBI) servers and workstations via a Local Area Network (LAN). This allows seamless fire alarm point display, command, and control via the EBI. The FNA3 supports two types of connections to the XLS140 and XLS3000 fire alarm systems. A single XLS140/3000 fire alarm control panel can be interfaced directly to the EBI/LAN. By using the Network Communications Module (NCM), up to 100 XLS140/3000 panel devices (including XLS-NCA) can be LAN connected to the EBI on an XLS-NET. Each FNA3 is equipped with a RJ-45 10/100BaseT connector, plus an RS-232 interface. Fig. 1. When the application firmware begins to run, the Green LED starts flashing. 4—XLS-NET Bus Channel activity display. This display contains two green LEDs; one showing the FNA3 receive activity (Rx), and the other showing the FNA3 transmit activity (Tx). 5—MODE Mode switch button. This button is used to change the Bootloader modes. For a detailed description about FNA3 operation modes, refer to the Operating Modes section. 6—LAN Local Area Network (LAN) activity display. Shows the actual LAN traffic using three LEDs: 10. Ethernet speed of 10 mbps indicator (Green). If this LED is lit, then the Ethernet link is operating at 10 mbps. 100. Q7055C1034, Q7055C1035 Fire Network Adapters (FNA3)

GENERALThe Q7055C1034 and Q7055C1035 Fire Network Adapters (FNA3) provide a UL 864 listed interface between Honeywell XLS140 and XLS3000 fire alarm systems and Honeywell Enterprise Buildings Integrator TM (EBI) servers and workstations via a Local Area Network (LAN). This allows seamless fire alarm point display, command, and control via the EBI. The FNA3 supports two types of connections to the XLS140 and XLS3000 fire alarm systems.

A single XLS140/3000 fire alarm control panel can be interfaced directly to the EBI/LAN. By using the Network Communications Module (NCM), up to 100 XLS140/3000 panel devices (including XLS-NCA) can be LAN connected to the EBI on an XLS-NET.

Each FNA3 is equipped with a RJ-45 10/100BaseT connector, plus an RS-232 interface.

Quick Setup (Optional)The FNA3 device is shipped with default network parameters and device application firmware. The quick setup is only required if these parameters need to be changed before installation.

To set up the FNA3 device properly, the following connections are prerequisite:• Null-Modem cable connected to a PC running a VT100

terminal emulation program or a VT100 compatible terminal (Refer to Table 1).

• LAN connection via UTP (RJ-45 connector).• Power connection.• An active FTP-Server machine running Microsoft® IIS on

the LAN.The following FNA3 Bootloader commands are mandatory for setting up the FNA3 (for a detailed command description, refer to the Command Description section):

Before starting the application firmware, add additional users (user roles) using command um (Refer to the User Management section, command um).

When Quick Setup steps are complete, install the FNA3 at its operating location.

WIRING

WARNINGThis equipment generates, uses and can radiate radio frequency energy, and If not installed and used in accordance with the Instructions Manual, may cause interference with radio communication. It has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class A computing device pursuant to Subpart J of Part 15 or FCC Rules, which are designed to provide reasonable protection against such interference when operated in a commercial environment. Operation of this equipment in a residential area is likely to cause interference, in which case, users at their own expense will be required to take whatever measures may be required to correct the interference. Any unauthorized modification of this equipment may result in the revocation of the owner’s authority to continue its operation.

CAUTIONShock Hazard.Removal of the FNA3 cover can result in electrical shock.

Do not remove cover. There are no user serviceable parts inside.

Location and Mounting The Q7055C1035 FNA3 device can be mounted in two ways; as a single device or wall mounted in a cabinet. See figures 4 and 5. Mounting for the Q7055C1034 FNA3-XLS is shown in figure 6.

Wall MountingIt is also possible to mount the FNA3 device to a wall using the 14006090-555151 series Communication Panel. The following sequence describes how the device should be prepared prior to mounting it. See Fig. 5.

Cabinet MountingIn UL Listed installations, the mounting ears (included with the Q7055C1035 FNA3) are used to mount the FNA3 in a 14006090-555151 series communication panel. Refer to form no. 95-8524, Q7055C1034, Q7055C1035 Fire Network Adapters (FNA3) Installation Instructions for details.

Q7055C1034 MOUNTINGTypical Q7055C1034 FNA3-XLS mounting in an XLS cabinet is shown in figure 6. Mounting locations and restrictions are the same as those for the CHS-4L chassis. The space in the right side of the assembly is used for the FNA3 PWB assembly.

Space is available on the left side of the FNA3 PWB for mounting an NCM if needed (not included – order separately). The 14507678-004 Ditek LAN transient protector (when it is required), can be mounted on the supplied transient protector plate and installed on the right panel mount stud used to mount the Q7055C1034 assembly into the cabinet. The transient protector’s green ground wire can be connected to chassis by terminating it on a Q7055C1034 mounting stud. Be sure to remove any paint from around the stud to insure a good connection. Two nuts are provided in the bag kit so that this stud can also be used to provide a chassis connection for the green ground wire from the FNA3 power connector.

Place the FNA3-adapter with the topside down on the desk.

Remove the four feet from the bottom of the FNA3 by pushing horizontally away from the housing with a flat screwdriver.

Push the four inserts (included) fully and horizontally into the housing.

Adjust the four retaining clips (included) on top of the inserts. Fasten the retaining clips with the included four screws.

Use the housing with the clips to mark the positions of the four mounting holes on the mounting surface. Drill 1/8 in. (4 mm) holes for the mounting screws (not included) and fix the FNA3 device.

CONNECTIONSThis section describes how to connect power and the field bus to the FNA3 device. A bag with installation material containing the required connector for power and the cable assembly for the field bus connection is shipped with the device.

Power ConnectionThe FNA3 device requires an external power supply with the following specifications: 24 Vac, 50 Hz to 60 Hz, or 24 Vdc.

Power consumption of the FNA3 device is 8 VA.

For the power connection, the 3-pole Phoenix connector is required (included).

If an off-the-shelf power supply is used then wire the power cable as follows:

PreparationIf the power adapter cable contains a barrel connector, then cut off the original connector at the end of the cable. Strip the two cable ends to expose 3/8" (10 mm) conductor length and

twist the cable strands. If the power adapter contains screw terminals, then wire a cable to the 24 V and GND terminals on the power supply. If the power adapter cable contains ferrules installed on them, then the ferrule pins can be terminated directly into the device power connector as described below.

Termination1. Insert the two cable ends into the left two openings of

the 3-pole Phoenix connectors that are marked for power.

2. Fasten them with a small screwdriver.

3. Connect a chassis ground to the third position on this connector as marked.

NOTE: The polarity (+/-) of the 3-pole Phoenix power connector for DC power supplies is don’t care.

Field Bus Connection (XLS-NET)For connecting the field bus, use a 9-pin D-SUB female connector.

Fig. 7 shows the pin layout of the field bus connector. Pins 2, 3 and 5 should be used to connect the FNA3 to NUP Service Connector on the CPU or Network Communications Module (NCM) using the 75554 Cable Assembly. Use appropriate lightning and surge protection as shown in Figures 15 and 16.

REPLACING Q7055A WITH Q7055CThis section describes how to connect power and the field bus to the FNA3 device when replacing a Q7055A model FNA3 with a new Q7055C model. Verify that + and - connections on the power cable are wired to the correct terminals and that there is a solid chassis ground connection. Use the power connector provided with the new device.

FNA3 BOOTLOADERThis section describes the functions of the FNA3 Bootloader software. Each FNA3 device is equipped with a Bootloader that functions in the same way for all FNA3 devices.

FNA3 devices are shipped pre-loaded with Bootloader, Application firmware, and IP-Address parameters. For such devices, application firmware is only required to be loaded when a newer version of firmware is required in the field. Follow update guidelines provided with SRB for each FNA3 application firmware release.

Following are the pre-loaded IP parameters for these FNA3 devices:Default IP: 192.168.1.100Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0Default Gwy: 192.168.1.1Please check with the customer IT person to determine if there is already a device on the network where the FNA3 will be installed that has the same IP-Address as the default FNA3 IP-Address. Also check if the Default Gateway IP-Address in the FNA3 needs to be changed.

If the customer LAN does not have a device with IP-Address conflict with the default IP-Address of the new FNA3 device, no action is required.

If there is an existing device on customer LAN which has the same IP-Address as the default FNA3 IP-Address, or when the FNA3 Default Gateway address needs to be changed, these addresses can be changed within the FNA3 as described in this document.

Startup BehaviorAfter resetting or powering-on the FNA3 device, the start of Bootstrap execution is indicated by the two blinking Heartbeat LEDs on the front panel. After five to six seconds, Bootloader execution starts and is indicated when only the Red Heartbeat LED blinks. Application start (normal mode) is indicated when only the Green Heartbeat LED blinks.

The flowchart shown in Fig. 8 shows the FNA3 execution sequence. Refer to sequence order to determine what actions (if any) need to be made for device operation, and to determine the current device state (shown by the LEDs on the front panel).

FNA3 LED Behavior8 LEDs and 2 Buttons are present on the FNA3 front panel. Blinking/lighting of LED's shows some activity on the FNA3 board.

Power LED: Whenever the power is supplied to the FNA3 board the red Power LED is lit permanently until the power supply to the board is discontinued.

Boot LED (red) and NML LED (green): If both LEDs are blinking together it means the board is in the process of booting. This booting process continues for about 95 seconds.

Boot LED: If the Boot LED blinks alone then the Bootloader has started executing. After 10 seconds, the NML LED will start blinking green continuously and the boot LED stops blinking which shows that the execution of the FNA3 application has started. This indicates that the DB-9 port function has switched from boot/configuration mode to XLS-NET data mode operation.

XLS-NET Rx/Tx: Their blinking shows the data activity on the XLS-NET communication bus and their direction e.g.: Rx LED blinking means that the FNA3 is receiving data. The speed at which the LED blinks depends on the bus configuration.

LAN LED: The ACT LED will blink as per the activity on the network. Either the 10 or 100 LED will be on solid, depending on the speed of the network that they are connected to.

Reset Button: This button should be pressed when the board needs to be restarted.

Mode Button: The Mode button should be pressed to go in to the Bootloader mode. The moment the Boot LED blinks alone (i.e. when the Bootloader is getting executed), the mode button should be pressed for one second and released. It should then be pressed and held for 5 seconds to enter into the Bootloader mode.

CAUTIONTo avoid ESD (electro-static discharge) damage to the device, it is recommended that the Reset and Mode buttons be pressed with an insulated tool or a non-conducting object such as the hex key end of the Honeywell CCT735A tool.

Operating ModesThe FNA3 Bootloader has two operating modes:• Normal Mode (default).• Stay in Bootloader Mode.

Normal Mode is the default, which directly starts an application firmware found in Flash memory. If no firmware can be found, then the Bootloader command shell is started by the FNA3 (Refer to Fig. 8). This execution flow can only be influenced by pressing the Mode Button and changing the mode to Stay in Bootloader Mode.

Stay in Bootloader Mode interrupts the default Bootloader startup sequence and tells the Bootloader not to start existing application firmware in the Flash memory.

Switch Operating ModeIn order to switch to the Bootloader operating mode, a pointed object, like an unfolded paper clip or a sharp pen is required.

There is a time window of about three seconds after reset for changing the operating modes. The following steps must also be performed to successfully change the Bootloader mode (See Fig. 9):

1. Press the Reset button.2. The Red and Green Heartbeat LEDs will blink together

for a period of time (see fig.9 FNA3 LED Behavior Chart for expected time frame), after which the Green Heart-beat LED stops blinking and only the Red Heartbeat LED is blinking. Momentarily press the Mode button within three seconds of the Red heartbeat LED starting to blink by itself. The Heartbeat blinking immediately stops and the Red Heartbeat LED and Field Bus Tx LEDs are permanently on.

3. Press the Mode button and hold it for one second to accept the mode. The FNA3 Bootloader indicates mode acceptance by blinking the field bus Tx LED and Heart-beat LED three times.

If no further mode changes are needed, stop pressing the Mode button. The FNA3 device will continue with Normal Mode after a few seconds.

Device SetupIMPORTANT

Use of unassigned IP-Addresses can cause interference on the network.

Contact your network administrator to request a unique IP-Address. If you want to connect the FNA3 to a customer network, contact the customer’s IT manager to request this IP-Address information.

In order to set up the FNA3 device properly, the following connections are necessary:• DB9F Null-Modem cable connected to a PC running a

VT100 terminal emulation program or a VT100 compatible terminal (See Table 1).

• LAN connection via UTP (RJ-45 connector).• Power connection.• An active FTP-Server machine on the LAN.

After connecting all necessary cables to the FNA3, press the Reset button. If the terminal settings are all okay, the Copyright notice of the FNA3 device will be displayed.

When a password has been defined, the FNA3 prints the information User 'root' logged in. for all future startups.

The root user is the administration user with unlimited access rights. The root user will be logged in automatically without any login procedure when connecting to the FNA3 device via the serial link (RS-232). Any connection to the FNA3 via LAN is password protected.

If the device already contains an application firmware, put the device into the Stay in Bootloader Mode prior to the setup activity (Refer to Switch Operating Mode section).

To prepare the FNA3 device for operation on the LAN, and to load the application firmware into the device, the following mandatory commands must be executed in the order they are listed (for a detailed command description, refer to the Command Description section):

np Basic network parametersDefinition of IP address, network mask and default gateway. These definitions are required to allow the FNA3 device to operate on the LAN.

dc Download configurationDefinition of FTP Server, path to firmware and user account on FTP Server. This is necessary for loading the application or Bootloader firmware into the FNA3 device.

load Load executable from FTP ServerThis command finally loads the application or Bootloader firmware (executable) into the FNA3 device. After successful download, the firmware is moved into the Flash memory.

This is the minimum command sequence for setting up a FNA3 device.

The application or Bootloader firmware can now be invoked by entering the command run, or by pushing the Reset button. When the Reset button is pushed, the FNA3 Bootloader reacts as shown in Fig. 9.

As mentioned previously, three commands are required to set up a FNA3 device. We also recommend performing some user definitions (See User Management section, command um) for different user roles. This prevents unfamiliar users from performing accidental redefinition of important settings. User definitions can also be referenced by the application firmware.

Command DescriptionThe FNA3 Bootloader provides a command shell for command input. Some of the commands provide sub-shells for entry of additional commands.

A detailed description of all FNA3 Bootloader commands follows. The order of the command descriptions are the same as the commands displayed by the FNA3 Bootloader shell, except for the command help. This command is in the first position because it is necessary to get the list of commands displayed.

The following notational conventions apply unless otherwise noted:cmd Bootloader command.

NOTE: All FNA3 Bootloader commands are case-sensi-tive. The Application firmware file names are case insensitive.

Help or ?Entering help or ? at the FNA3 Bootloader> prompt followed by <Enter> displays all available FNA3 Bootloader commands.

In each sub-shell, help or ? can also be used to view the existing commands.

All command lists can vary between different users. Only executable commands are displayed.

Basic Network ParametersThe basic network parameters command np is used to define the IP address, the network mask, and the default gateway of the FNA3 device. This information is normally provided by the local IS department.

NOTE: np is not a direct command; instead, it provides a sub-shell with the following commands:

display Displays current basic network settings.

modify Changes basic network settings. After entering this command each basic network parameter will be queried individually. After all requested information is entered, the system asks if the new settings should be accepted. If the new settings are denied, the old settings will be restored. Otherwise, the new settings are stored to the Flash memory and the system should be restarted to activate the new settings.

delete Deletes basic network settings. Note that after this operation the FNA3 device will not operate on the LAN. After commanding delete, new basic network parameters must be entered via modify.

exit Exits the sub-shell and returns to the main shell.

Download ConfigurationThe download configuration command dc provides a predefined method for retrieving new application firmware versions when an update is necessary.

Command dc defines the IP address of the FTP-Server, the path to the application firmware, a username on the FTP-Server and the user’s password. This command must be invoked prior to using command load.

A prerequisite for downloading an application firmware is a running FTP-Server machine somewhere in the network that can be reached by the FNA3 device. The FTP-Server machine is responsible for storing the application firmware image that will be loaded into the FNA3 device. The

application firmware image for the FNA3 is delivered on the distribution media of the Building Management System currently used.

A description on how to set up and invoke an FTP-Server on each specific operating system is not within the scope of this document. Refer to the documentation for the operating system of the designated FTP-Server machine.

NOTE: dc is not a direct command; instead, it provides the following commands in a sub-shell:

display Displays current download configuration.

modify Changes download configuration. After entering this command each download configuration item will be queried individually. test Tests current download configuration. This command can be used to check whether the entered download configuration is valid.

With the command test, optional command-line parameters are allowed. Accepted parameters are FTP-Server IP-Address and/or a filename for checking existence. Given command-line parameters temporarily supersede the values in the actual download configuration.

NOTE: With some Windows NT based FTP-Servers the test command sometimes fails the first time. If this happens, try it a second time. If the com-mand still fails, one of the parameters may be wrong.

exit Exits the sub-shell and returns to the main shell.

Load ExecutableThe command load is a direct command which immediately starts downloading the application firmware image into the FNA3 based on the download configuration defined by the command dc.

After loading the image into local memory, the FNA3 Bootloader starts copying the image into the local Flash memory where it resides until the next update.

load accepts optional command-line parameters. Accepted command-line parameters are FTP-Server IP-Address and/or filename. Command-line parameters supersede the current download configuration for these elements. Command-line parameters in the load command scope can be used to designate an alternative FTP-Server for downloading, or to download another application firmware image into the FNA3 device.

If load fails, check to be sure the correct download configuration has been defined. In this case, the command dc test becomes useful.

PingSends an ICMP Ping through TCP/IP to the FTP-Server defined in the download configuration, or to the machine addressed by the IP-Address in the optional command-line parameter.

This command can be used to check whether the network connection is working properly.

Show Installed SoftwareThe command ver outputs a list of all installed software components on the current FNA3 device.

Execute Installed SoftwareThe command run starts a previously-installed application firmware.

If no application firmware can be found, then the information No executable found is printed out. In this case, use load to download an application firmware.

User ManagementThe user management command um allows the definition of users, different access rights per user, and individual user password settings. User definitions are necessary to provide a secure device on an open TCP/IP network.

These user accounts are only required for set up, configuration and diagnostic applications, if available. The communication protocols allowing communication between the FNA3 and its building management system are protected at the protocol level, depending on the type of application firmware.

Several user roles should be defined because an application firmware may apply user definitions differently in existing user interfaces, depending on the user currently logged in.

A FNA3 device allows up to five user definitions with different access rights. The root user occupies one of these five definitions. Four remaining user roles can also be defined.

A user definition consists of three elements: a username or role name, a group membership, and a password.

Usernames and passwords are freely definable, but are limited to eight characters. Group definitions are predefined based on specific characteristics.

Table 2 provides an overview of the available user groups and their properties.

The user management command um is an indirect command and provides the following commands in its sub-shell:

display Display current user definitions.

add Add new user. The username can optionally be passed directly on the command-line.

delete Deletes existing user. The username can optionally be passed directly on the command-line. An option –all is available that deletes all user definitions except the one for the root user. The root user account can not be deleted.

setpass Set other user’s password. This command is helpful when a user has forgotten their password. The username can optionally be passed directly on the command-line.

passwd Set own password. Every user can use this command to change their own password.

exit Exits the sub-shell and returns to the main shell.

Whoami—Who Am Iwhoami prints username and group of the user currently logged in.

Login as Different UserThe command login allows users to change their role while they are connected to a FNA3 device.

The FNA3 provides a RJ-45 10/100BaseT connector for LAN connection. This section describes the pin layout and shows how the cables should be configured for connection via 10/100BaseT (RJ-45).

RJ-45 ConnectorMany Ethernet local area networks are using 10/100BaseT twisted pair wiring. 10/100BaseT networks are physically laid out in a star topology, where each piece of equipment on the network is connected to a central hub. The wiring is connected to devices using a plug that resembles a phone jack, called RJ-45. See Table 3 for RJ-45 signals.

Connect FNA3 to WorkstationAuto crossover detection is a new feature in FNA3. When a FNA3 needs a direct connection to a workstation without using an Ethernet Hub, a crossover cable is no longer required. Fig. 15 shows how the different signals would be connected when the previous FNA1 or FNA2 models were used.

Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) ConnectionsThe FNA3 supports VoIP communications for general paging only. This function is not UL listed for use for any fire alarm or emergency signaling/communication purposes. In a typical FNA3 VoIP application, a paging microphone is connected to the standard microphone audio input of an EBI workstation. The audio signal is then multiplexed with data on the XLS-

NET. An NCM located at the XLS-DVC Panel provides the audio signal to an XLS-DAA for power amplification of microphone audio to the paging zone loudspeakers. See fig. 20. Information on EBI point setup and configuration for VoIP audio can be found in the FPS R4.5 FNA3 VoIP: Installation and Configuration Document and Fire Point Server XLS Controllers XLS140/XLS3000/XLS-DVC Checkout and Test manual, form 74-4000.

Additional InformationTo simplify downloading, we recommend reducing (renaming) the application firmware image name to the base name of the image in the FTP-Server publication directory; for example, rename FNA3_susi_server_v1.0.0.tgz to FNA3_susi_server.tgz.

This has the advantage that even when updates or upgrades of the application firmware are delivered, no change is necessary in each FNA3 download configuration.

The FNA3 Bootloader command shell is able to execute commands in a sub-shell directly. For example, it is possible to invoke the command display in sub-command shell np directly from the FNA3 Bootloader prompt. Just call:

FNA3 Bootloader> np display followed by <Enter>.

The FNA3 Bootloader command shell allows execution of more than one command by using a “;” between two commands; for example, np display; dc display <Enter>. When one of the commands fails, execution is stopped at this point.

Questions1. Which terminal type can be used for connecting to the

FNA3 Bootloader?RESULT: To connect to the FNA3 Bootloader, any

VT100 compatible terminal or VT100 compati-ble terminal emulation program can be used. For the proper terminal settings, refer to the Device Setup section.

2. After power-on or reset, the FNA3 device does not show the FNA3 Bootloader menu on my terminal. How do I get the correct display?RESULT: One reason could be that the terminal settings

are not correct. Verify the actual terminal set-tings. For the proper terminal settings refer to the Device Setup section.

RESULT: A second reason could be that an application firmware is already running in your FNA3. See the Startup Behavior section. The FNA3 will start an application firmware automatically after power-on or reset. To access Bootloader mode, switch the operating mode to force the FNA3 to Stay in Bootloader Mode. Refer to the Switch Operating Mode section for further information.

3. FNA3 device has only one RS232 port. Is it dedicated to XLS-NET communications only?RESULT: The primary function of the RS232 (serial)

port on FNA3 is XLS-NET communications via the provided NUP serial cable. If the device is allowed to boot during power-on without user intervention, the serial port is programmed to act as XLS-NET serial port. It is, however, possible to interrupt this boot pro-cess using the method described in “Switch

Operating Mode” section to program it tempo-rarily as a maintenance port for BADMAN access.

4. FNA3 initial configuration requires me to connect to it using a serial port. I don’t have a serial port on my lap-top computer (or I don’t have access to Hyperterminal program on my computer, or I don’t have a Null Modem able, or I am having trouble with FNA3 boot process), is it possible to use Telnet to connect to FNA3 for initial parameter programming?RESULT: Yes, it is possible to use Telnet to connect to

the FNA3 device using its RJ-45 port. To do so, you will have to use an Ethernet cable to connect your laptop directly to the FNA3. Next, you will have to temporarily program your laptop LAN port with an IP address in the same subnet as the default FNA3 IP address (shown under FNA3 BOOTLOADER section) along with the same subnet mask and Default Gateway parameters. After you connect to the FNA3 be sure to re-program the FNA3 net-work parameters to customer assigned values as the very last step. (After this step the FNA3 will boot with the new IP address, and you will have to change the settings for your laptop LAN port to connect with it again, if desired.) Be sure to revert your laptop LAN network parameters to their previous values.

5. I need to replace an FNA2 (Q7055B1039) with an FNA3 device (Q7055C103x), what do I need to watch for? RESULT: FNA3 device takes 100 seconds to complete

its boot process. The power connectors on FNA2 and FNA3 devices are identical. On FNA3, there is only one RS232 serial port which is programmed during device startup as the XLS-NET port. In order to change the default FNA3 parameters the first time, you need to connect to this port using a null modem cable like a maintenance (BADMAN) port and follow procedure described under the “Switch Operating Mode“ section during device bootup to bring up the BADMAN menu login prompt. Once the site specific parame-ters have been programmed, the device is allowed to boot again, at which point it follows normal startup process and the serial port is programmed as an XLS-NET port.
