In the process of creating my magazine I have learnt how to use several different technologies which have greatly

improved the quality of my media product. I have regularly posted on my blog throughout the process of

creating the product and therefore I will reference these posts or the Pictures which I have taken including practice shots and final shots to show the different technologies I

have used whilst creating my magazine.

Whilst making the magazine I used several different technologies which enhanced the quality of my product.

This included:• Adobe Photoshop• Green Screen • Digital Camera • Apple Mac• Blogger

Adobe Photoshop

Photoshop is the photo editing software I used, meaning I could edit and manipulate my images to a high standard. Due to my use of green screen for my final photos, Photoshop made it very easy to take the background out of them.

The main image on my front cover and double page spread were both edited using Photoshop , this meant that the photos were able to be edited to a standard which I could not have achieved using other photo editing software.

Green screen

Green screen is used for taking photos against a bright green background which makes it easy to either put it a completely new background or simply take the background out, I used green screen for my final photos as I didn’t want a background for the photos on my front cover and double page spread.

Digital Camera

Using the digital camera I was able to take as many photos as I needed and I was able to look back at all of them and decide which, if any, I wanted to use for my photos, this would not have been possible using a traditional camera because the amount of photos I could have taken would have been limited.

Another advantage of the digital camera was that I was able to connect it straight to the computer so I could the see the images on a larger screen and this made it a lot easier to decide which images I would use. Through using a digital camera I learnt things such as different camera angles and also camera techniques like shallow focus.

Apple Mac

In the process of creating my product and editing my photos for the product I used an Apple Mac, this was a new piece of technology to me and through using it I learnt that it worked particularly well for editing photos as Photoshop operated better on a Mac OS than on Windows.

I found the operating speed of the Mac was superior to that of windows and this helped in creating my magazine as I constantly needed the Mac to be able to do several things at once i.e. posting, editing, saving etc.

Blogger

I used Blogger for posting the progression and planning of my media product, it was useful for uploading photos and being able to get feedback from people who viewed the blog, it also meant that I was able to view all my work in one place and I could edit the posts at any time with the option of either posting them straight away or saving them as drafts.
