In what ways does your media product use develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products? We decided to call our final product ‘stalk’. Our final product follows stereotypical thriller conventions. We came to a conclusion to use different types of techniques to conform to a thriller genre. Stalk conforms to a thriller genre as it builds up suspense from the start after seeing the protagonist running away from a unseen guy. This makes the audience want to know what is to come next. We also used digetic sounds such as a gunshot which builds up tension- we decided to use this after doing market research which include people filling out questionnaires and answering a few questions on what they expect to see in thriller films. We also included non difetic background music which kept the audience engaged and suspense. In addition to this before we decided how our opening scene would be we researched into similar products which are already in the market such as ‘ inception, 4321, This gave us a few ideas of what to include in our own product. Furthermore our product had no dialogue in it however the background music allowed the audience to sympathise with the protagonist and get a rough idea on what is going on. The background music also kept the audience engaged with the opening scene as they would have to think what’s to come Within our final product we used pleonastic sound which was the heartbeat which contrasted in line ith the credits, this shoed that the teenaged girl was scared and frightened.

We decided to call our final product ‘stalk’. Our final product follows stereotypical thriller conventions. We came to a conclusion to use different types of techniques to conform to a thriller genre.

Overall thriller films are meant to engage the audience and make them feel part of the film. We as a group tried our best to make our final product as realistic as possible to keep the audience engaged and entertained.
