How does your media product represent particular social groups?

My music magazine is an indie magazine based around that music genre. I have based

my magazine around NME and Q because they are based on that same music genre.

I have used lots of different ways to represent the social group of indie

throughout my music magazine.

For example, on my front cover is an indie music artist Joey Morton. He is dressed in an indie style and has mid length curly hair which is considered indie. He is looking

straight in the camera with attitude, which is what I think represents indie music. I think he looks cool, laidback and fun which is what for me represents indie. I get this

from the way he is leaning back on the wall, quite relaxed, but you can still see he has attitude.

All of my feature articles are on famous indie figures. I have articles which feature Zane Lowe and Fearne Cotton, who are famous icons in the indie world. I also have articles on

famous indie artists like Coldplay, Bombay Bicycle Club, Arctic Monkeys, and The Kicks.

Throughout my magazine is a consistent colour scheme of maroon, black and white. I think the colour maroon is quite an

indie colour and therefore will relate to that certain social group.
