Adobe Photoshop From the time I have spent constructing my production I have gained a lot in terms of learning and understanding the importance and impact of technology in media. For example, when constructing my product, I made use of Adobe Photoshop, a digital image editing and creating software that allowed me to produce a realistic and effective product. I did this by making use of its key features such as the cutting out tool which allowed me to place my model on the background I had chosen for my magazine by cutting her out of the original image I had taken which clearly portrays the importance of the software when constructing my product. Also the tools of the software such as colour picker, its brush tools, filter and patch tools and its gradient tool to editing the colour scheme and lighting on the cover to make it correspond to the colour scheme I intended it to present.

The software was also very necessary for my production as I learned a lot from it in terms of editing the original image I had taken to give it more of a professional look so that it would look like a realistic magazine cover, I did this by altering the lighting and tones of the image. Therefore Adobe Photoshop has proven to be very beneficial and necessary in terms of constructing my product. The main reason that Adobe Photoshop has proven to be extremely beneficial to my production is that it gave me the platform to base my entire front cover and work on it as a whole in the software. This allowed me to position the aspects of the cover in the order they were intended to be, layer the cover so that it looked effective (e.g., layering the overlapping images) , position my model in front of background features such as the golden banner across the cover and other features.

Voki I have learnt to use Voki for my final evaluation. This has helped me provide my work and explain how I have constructed my product and it is able to show my variety of knowledge on different on different medias and how to use it.

Blogger

Blogger has helped me massively to be able to construct my final products and complete it to the best of my ability. This is because it has helped me be able to track my progress and collect all of my research and look at it all as one. By doing this I was able to say just what I needed to include in my magazine and what conventions makes a Heavy Metal magazine what it is now. Also, it helped me keep organised throughout and was a good source to refer to whenever I struggled to achieve a look I wanted and see how other magazines captured what I achieved to do.

Conclusion

Overall, from the process of constructing my product I have come to learn and understand about technology as I have learned new skills such as how to edit images and work layers in the software Adobe Photoshop. Furthermore, I used different forms of media by using the internet and finding programmes such as

Voki and Blogger.

4)Who would be the audience of your media product?

Page 7: Q 6 and 4

My Heavy Metal music magazine would have a very nesh audience that would primarily focus on people who like Heavy Metal music and may be interested in the industry and how it works. This would therefore target the stereotypes of people who like to dress in a unique and distinct way so that people usually would like to associate them with this genre of music. A good example of what the typical reader of my magazine would be like this:

This did not change for me throughout the whole of my process of research and actually making my magazine because I was sure of the genre I was going to produce a Heavy Metal magazine. However, when I decided to have a female artist on the cover and as a main headline to my magazine I did consider targeting a lighter genre of music to attract a slightly different audience but I decided to break that stereotype and stick to Heavy Metal.
