Reasons for fireworks accidents

P ersonnel were burning excess artillery propellant bags.There was a HMMWV parked about 9 ft from the burn site.The heat from the fire induced a low-order detonation of a

155 mm ³HE´ round that was in the vehicle.

Fun with fireworks

± Fireworks are great fun

± In USA every states has different rules andlaws for fireworks. Some states or county's

only permits fireworks on private property

outside of city limits. Other states do not

allowed fireworks at all.

± Follow directions on label

± Adult supervision

± Buy from reliable fireworks dealers

± Alcohol and fireworks don¶t mix

± Always use fireworks out doors, away from

homes, dry grass and trees

± Keep a water bucket, water hose, or fire

extinguisher

± Only light one item at a time

± Never try to reignite malfunctioning fireworks

± Always ensure that people are at safe distance

± Don¶t shoot/fire fireworks from metal or glasscontainer

± Never experiment, modify or attempt to make your own fireworks

every year in hospitals for injuries resulting

from mishandling fireworks and about 3,000

of them were children under 14.
