• The diameter of the largest hard spherical particle

that will pass through a filter under specified testing

conditions.

• It is an indication of the largest opening in the filter.

• Useful for membrane or surface filters.

• A particulate challenge test for efficiency using particle

counting equipment.

• Challenge contaminants include siliceous test dusts, latex

spheres, metal oxides and customer-specific contaminants.
