For the week ending: Friday 22nd March, 2019 Dear Parents FI and II girls headed off to Hampton Court Palace yesterday and once again proved what lovely girls we have at Seaton House! Admiring looks from the general public and jealous glances from other teachers were the order of the day! Thank you, girls, for your exemplary behaviour. The Spring Concert last night was an unprecedented success with the choir and musicians performing to the highest levels yet. It was a night to remember. To round off this week, Form IV girls delivered a delightful assembly that got us all thinking about who we are and what we will become. They showed us how to embrace who we are and accept the changes we undergo as we grow up. They shared their own personal goals that they had set for themselves and performed some impressive song and dance moves! Well done, girls! Spring Concert 2019

All those present at last night’s Spring Concert will, I am sure, agree that it was a joy from beginning to end. That so many pupils “put themselves out there” to play intricate individual pieces (or in one case a delightful duet) and rose to the chal-lenge of public performance, says so much about their character. It was also very well attended by families - hardly an available seat – and with the astonishing variety of tal-ented instrumentalists and singers made for a captivating evening. A huge thank-you to all the staff present, the accompanists, the glorious playing of Mrs Freeman and Miss Tovey for administering the concert from start to finish and producing the programme.

FIV Assembly

This morning, FIV led a very powerful and thought-provoking assembly. The message was clear: we must accept ourselves for who we are and that there are some things about ourselves that we cannot change. The important thing is that we must never, ever give up because we know that if we work hard and if we keep trying, we will achieve our goals. Our girls remembered all their lines and their dancing was worthy of the West End. Thank you Mrs Hammond, Mrs Mannooch and girls for such a wonderful assembly and to our parents who came to support us.

Junior House Visit Hampton Court

FI & FII had a wonderful time yesterday at historic Hampton Court. We learned a Tudor Dance, we visited the Great Hall where a Tudor feast, fit for a King was laid out, we learned to ride a horse, Tudor-style and we went into the Chapel where King Henry VIII got married. We had an amazing day. Thank you to all the Junior House teachers and staff who organised this wonderful trip for us.

During Assembly this morning, we learned that there are things that we cannot change about ourselves but there are also things we can do - we can be good friends, we can

help each other and we can be kind —as we strive to achieve our goals.

FIV: ’ We have decided that we are up for the CHALLENGE OF CHANGE! One thing we have realised is that to achieve a goal takes perseverance, persistence, hard work and determination. There are often setbacks but

if we continue to try our best, we will make progress.’
