MrTikaramAdhikariChairmanandFoundingBoardMemberWinnipeg,Canada
It gives me immense pleasure in bringing to your attention that PunyaFoundationhascrossedanothermilestonein2017byfocusingourattentioninlaying the educational foundation and empowerment of orphan youths whowere victims of 2015 earthquake in Nepal. This is a move away from thepreviousyears’workwheretheFoundationorganizedanumberofcreativeandeffective programs in the last six years impacting vulnerable children andwomen’s lives in the refugee camp in Nepal and Kenya, and the BhutaneseDiaspora.TheFoundationwasabletodothissuccessfullywiththesupportofdedicated volunteers who are extremely generous in terms of their timecommitments and it is an honour to be associatedwith such a devoted andself-less team of professionals. We are looking forward inmoving the futureprogramactivitiesandplansinthecomingyears.Another milestone that is worth mentioning is the formation of the PunyaFoundation Team in the USA wherewe have justmanaged to complete thedevelopmentof theby-laws, completed the registration and formed theUSAboard that is ready to launch new and emerging programs and provideadditionalresourceforthecurrenteducationprograminNepal.Iwouldliketopersonally appreciate thededicated efforts of USA teammembers in gettingthis established and strategically positioning the Foundation in developingfurther programs in the future. Combined with the team that is operatingsuccessfully inAustralia, wearehoping to launch theFoundation as a stronginternationalteam.Tocontinuebuildingitshumbleinitiativesanddedicatedwork, theFoundationrequires support ofBhutanesediaspora andotherwell-wishers from broadercommunity.Iwould liketourge, all those individualsandBhutanesediasporaorganizations, interestedinimprovingtheeducationallevelofourmarginalizedyouth and vulnerable people to continue supporting the work of theFoundation. With your support and goodwill gesture the foundation is moreconfidentandwearemovingforwardinthedirectionwehaveset. As we reported in the past, the Foundation stands to empower vulnerablepeople and build capacity of youth through education and engagementprograms rooted in Paulor Freire’s philosophy of education and capacitybuilding that encourages organizing programs for marginalized people byconsulting and involving them to raise their consciousness about their socialworld. It believes in SwamiVivekaNanda’s philosophy of universal toleranceand respect for humanity, creating opportunities for young people from allsocio-economic and cultural backgroundwithout any formsof discrimination. The Foundation adheres on these strong believes and commitment instrengthening the assets of vulnerable youth andwomen througheducation, andcommunityinvolvementinitiatives.
