Benefits of Strenuous Exercise Numerous studies show that strenuous, aerobic exercise can actually help “improve their physical performance and activities of daily living,” according to a critical review published in the Clinical Journal of Sports Medicine. The program, currently in action at Paulie Ayala’s University of Hard Knocks

Gym, provides a safe, yet challenging environment for patients to work on their physical fitness, overall coordination and develop the fighter’s “never give up, never give in” mentality.

Dewey BozellaArthur Ashe Courage Award Winner & Boxer

There are times in life when it is easier, or even more sensible, to just give up. This isn’t a belief held by 2011 Arthur Ashe Courage Award winner Dewey Bozella. The 2011 ESPY Awards celebrated the courage and conviction that led Bozella to the ultimate path of freedom after 26 years of wrongful imprisonment.

“Terrible” Terry Norris

“Terrible” Terry turned pro in 1986 and defeated Quincy Taylor before TKO’ing Steve Little for the NABF junior middleweight title. In 1989 he challenged the hard-punching Julian Jackson for the WBA title, but was halted in the second round. The resilient Norris bounced back to score a sensational one-round kayo over John “The Beast” Mugabi for the WBC junior middleweight belt. An impressive string of 10 successful defenses followed.

Let us first say by each of you coming to the “Meet the Champions’ II” you have helped us. Whether you have a family member, friend, or just came out for the speakers, it doesn’t matter; we would like to thank you for spending the evening with us; especially the ones that have traveled from other states. Your sup-port of us is greatly appreciated!

To all of the family members that have continued to support the POP Boxers fighting hard to maintain some sense of normalcy in their lives, we especially want to thank you for the allowing us the time com-mitment in our lives to do this program. We all understand this isn’t what you were expecting when you married us, and that fact is not lost on us, but we sincerely appreciate you all hanging with us through all of the ups and downs that this disease takes. Hopefully with this program we will have many more years to really enjoy each other, that otherwise would have been lost! Each day is precious and we understand the commitment it takes to be with us, and for that we love you.

To all of the members, and there were a lot of you that donated to the program, and anyone else that has donated cash ,goods for the raffle items or other contributions. Thank you!
