A UNIQUE SOLUTION

As a result of continued research and develop-

ment in the field of Early Streamer Emission

lightning rods, Hélita is able to offer a simple

and comprehensive testing procedure :

a portable test kit with 8 metre long telescopic

pole to be used on site whilst in situ.

MAJOR ADVANTAGES

The test and inspection of the Pulsar without

the need to remove the air terminal saves

valuable time. It also eliminates risky manipu-

lations at height. The Hélita kit brings you

undisputed benefits in terms of efficiency with

respect to the ESE standards.

IMPLEMENTATION

There should be a good contact between the

tip of the Pulsar and the pole. The bottom of

the telescopic rod is connected to the test unit.

A second cable at the base of the test unit is

then connected to a down conductor. The High

Voltage block of the Pulsar is activated and

the signal collected by the test unit. The good

operating of the Pulsar guarantees the radius

of protection calculation as per NFC 17 102

standards.

PRESENTATION OF TESTER His appliance, called Pulsar tester or test case, is destined to test all the Pulsar models. To do this, the Pulsar must be put onto the plate of the case.

This appliance can also be used with the test pole reference PMH 0800, and this without putting the Pulsar down.COMMISSIONING THE TESTER The case is powered by two 9V type PP3 batteries in lithium. They are placed on the right side of the tester.

PULSAR TEST - Put the Pulsar onto the brass plate. - Connect the yellow discharge-cord to the earthing. - Connect the upper part of the Pulsar to the HV test terminal using the red cord and the red testclip. - Put the charging plug on ON. - Push simultaneously a first time on the two test buttons to reset the device. - Push again simultaneously on the two test buttons. The HV presence indicator light turns on. The green indicator light turns on : the Pulsar is good. The green indicator light does no turn on : the Pulsar is defectuous. - Put the charging plug on OFF. - Discharge the Pulsar by touching the upper part of the Pulsar with the yellow cord.

- Unplug the cords.

RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE The test terminal marked with a triangle warning delivers a tension of 1500V. This tension is not dangerous but avoid touching the upper part of the Pulsar during the test. Not to be used in rain. Not to be used outside the +5°C à +50°C température range.USE WITH THE TEST POLE The PMH 0800 test pole allows testing a Pulsar without putting it down insofar as it is installed at least 8 metres from an accessible zone. In this case, the test pole is connected to the test terminal using the red test cord. The green-yellow test pole cord is connected on one side to the earthing of the tester, and on the other using the yellow clip to the descent of the Pulsar under test. The test pole not to be used in thunderstorms or rainy weather. The test pole not to be used if there is a risk of touching conductors under dangerous tension.

MAINTENANCE The batteries are to be changed when the brightness of the HV presence indicator light feebles. Remove the batteries if the case is not used for a long time.

Clip to be connected to the earthing of the Pulsar and to the

earthing of the case

NOT TO BE USED IN PRESENCE OF
