The Puerto Rico Environmental Quality Board (PREQB) has chosen the dispersion modeling approach to characterize the areas in Puerto Rico in which the actual emissions of S02 sources are on or above 2,000 tpy. Dear Mrs. Enck:

Re: Data Requirements for Characterizing Air Quality for the Primary S02 NAAQS

As required by Title 40 of the Code of Federal Regulations, Section 51.1203(b), Air Agenciesshall notify the EPA by July pt 2016 the approach that will be used to characterize peak 1-hour S02 concentrations in areas where the actual emissions of S02 sources are on or above2,000 tons per year (tpy). The Puerto Rico Environmental Quality Board (PREQB) haschosen the dispersion modeling approach to characterize the areas in Puerto Rico in whichthe actual emissions of S02 sources are on or above 2,000 tpy.

The emissions data as well as the type of approach selected for each source were summarizedin Table 1.
