34,400 cattle slaughtered this week, of which steers were 11,878 (35%),
heifers 10,772 (31%), young bulls 3,155 (9%) and cows 8,050 (23%). Total
YTD slaughter is 1,659,506 compared to 1,640,725 a 1.1% increase.
2,625 cattle were exported in the week commencing 30/11/2020, 1,049 to
EU (Except NI). Live exports for 2020 amount to 255,848 compared
to 292,064 in 2019.

Grade E Pig price Week Commencing 30/11/2020 was €155.57
per 100Kg compared to €189.31 the same week last year,
which represents a 17.8% decrease.
75,138 pigs were slaughtered in Week 49 of which 2,053 were sows. The
Cumulative figure for pig slaughterings in 2020 is 3,288,402.
The National average price Week commencing 30/11/2020 was
€525.78 per 100Kg, an increase of 17% on the same week last year.the same week last year.
54,220 sheep were slaughtered at Sheep export premises Week
commencing 30/11/2020 compared to 64,994 in the same week 2019.
Sheep slaughterings for 2020 are 3% up on 2019 at 2,692,637 head.
Cumulative Poultry slaughterings for 2020* stand at 101,614,947 birds as at
the end of Week 48, up 3.5% compared to the same period last year.
