I had to come up with a name for my music magazine, so I brain stormed some idea and came up with four names. The names that I have come up are: HRR Magazine, Rap Stars, Hitlist Magazine and Loophole. Out of these four names I have chosen to go with. RapStars for my name because I thought that It fi t in with the Genre of the magazine really well and also that target audience.

NAME OF MAGAZINE

The positioning statement that I have chosen to use for my music magazine is ‘When words fail, Rap music speaks’. I have chosen to use this because it links to rap music and I think this is a true statement.

POSITIONING STATEMENT

My music magazine will be released monthly. This is because most Rap and R&B magazines are released monthly. As a result of this my magazine will be a bit more pricey. My magazine will be sold in either a music store like HMV or you will be able to buy it at some news agents.

DISTRIBUTION

My music magazine will be priced at £4. This is because it will be released every month, so I will have to raise the price of the magazine so that I can make a little bit of profi t because of things like production costs.

The aims of my magazine are:To promote popular and upcoming artists Inform people of new music which is being released Have a monthly top 40 chart Advertise for other companies to earn more money

RATIONALE

Style:The style of my magazine will be a typical Rap music

sort of style. So it will have graffi ti type lettering for the mast head and a big feature article photo.

Layout:My Magazine will have a feature article photo in the

center with the masthead just behind so that you can see most of it, a cover line on the side, advertisements on the side, barcode on the bottom, a head line, an anchorage and a menu strip.

Colour:The colours that will feature on my music magazine

are: Red, Black, White and Blue

The regular content that will be in my magazine:There will always be a top 40 chart every monthThere will always be information on new music that

has just been released or that is coming out soon.There will always be advertisement for other

companies.The magazine will always be based mostly on one

artist or group each week.

REGULAR CONTENT

The featured content that will be on my magazine: There will be a magazine based on what time of year

it is, so there will be special versions of it for example a Christmas special.

There will sometimes be big prize giveaways, so you could win something expensive like an Xbox one or an I Pad.

There will also be one version that comes out every summer which focuses on a few artists and groups instead of just one.
