There’s a sad little ticking…
After four years of laughing, crying, learning and growing together,
this is my last Rosebank newsletter. I will always cherish the time I have
spent in your beautiful community. It has been a privilege to work with
your children. I have watched them grow as engaged learners who
care deeply about their school and one another.
My deepest and most heartfelt thanks go to Nicky, who has worked
alongside me on our beautiful work. We are a great team and I’ll miss
her very much. Thank you to Olly, who creates musical magic like no
one else. Our students are so lucky to have such superb guidance in
The Arts. Thank you to Kim, true Rosebank Royalty, for teaching me
how to be a NSW principal and for supporting me to keep our school
ticking along nicely. Thank you to Jen, whose organizational skills are
legendary, as is her warm heart. Thank you to all the teachers (Josh,
Mim, Michelle, Alycia) support staff (Helen) and others (Ken, Julie,
Bob, Barb) who have worked to make our school so special.
Thank you to all the parents who have supported our school so that
the children here have all the opportunities available to their city
cousins…and then some. Most importantly, thank you to the beautiful
Rosebank children who make teaching the very best job in the world.
I will miss you all and look forward to returning for the Year 6
Graduation in December.
Blessings, Abigail

UP, UP AND AWAY
What a way to end our term and our time together! On
Wednesday, the Soccer Squad and their super supporters
head off to Sydney ready to compete in the Finals of the Small
Schools Soccer Knockout this Thursday. We are all VERY
excited.
The plan is that those flying out of Ballina today will meet at the
airport, where Mrs Hughes has all the boarding passes (copies
will also be sent home tomorrow). Mrs Hughes will fly out with
those on that flight and meet Ms Sawyer in Sydney at the
airport, where all those on the flight will be bussed out to our
dinner venue, JAZZBEH restaurant.
Any students who have arrived in Sydney under their own
steam (plane, train or automobile) should meet us at the
restaurant for our dinner OR come to the grounds after dinner
(around 8.30pm). Ms Sawyer will buy the dinner on her
corporate card and then invoice the cost to each family later.
All we need to know is how many to expect, and Jen is working
on that checking in with each family. More info in the note
going home today, which must be signed and returned
tomorrow.
For those NOT going to Sydney, school is on as usual (only
better!) The stayers can wear MUFTI on the last Friday of term,
when they will have a big morning of cooking before a FREE
lunch feast. No need to send in any lunch Friday, just some
morning tea.

We respectfully acknowledge the Elders past and present of
the Wijabul Wiyabul people and other peoples of the
Bunjalung Nation. They are the first peoples of this land,
which has long been a place of learning for Aboriginal people.

IT’S HAPPENING!
Thank you Layla! Thanks to Layla’s
persistence, Davey Mac (aka Teazer)
rocked up to Rosebank on Monday to
meet with the graffiti crew – 12 students
who have put their hand up to work with
Davey to design a mural for our school’s
weather shed. Davey was thrilled with
the creative ideas our children came up
with as part of his process for the mural’s
design.
