Students of the Week Congratulations to ALL students
who have shone in exhibiting exceptional RISE expectations
this week.
We have started this term firing on all cylinders!
Writers Festival
Year 3-6 students travelled to Lismore to take part in this year’s Byron
Writer’s Festival presentation at Lismore City hall. We thoroughly
enjoyed our close up experience with Isobelle Carmody and John
Flanagan. These amazing, Australian authors shared some of their
experiences as writers, including insight into where they gained their
inspiration to write, and gave enriching information and tips about
quality writing.
NAIDOC Voice Treaty Truth
Last week students thoroughly enjoyed cooking and sharing their
Wattleseed Macadamia biscuits and Kangaroo meatballs with
Quandong Relish. We also shared traditional Aboriginal dreamtime
stories, music and played adapted Aboriginal games.
Robotics
Our Robotics day was fabulous. Students from Upper Coopers Creek PS
joined us in engaging and empowering Science, Mathematics,
Engineering and Digital Technology activities with the WeDo 2.0 and
EV3 robots.
Athletics Carnivals-One Down and One to Go!
On Monday, students aged 8-13, competed at the First North Track and
Field Athletics Carnival held at Clunes PS. Our Rosebank students did us
proud. Results will be included in next week’s newsletter. Our K-6 First
North Carnival run by Bexhill PS this Friday at Eureka PS has been
postponed. The new date is Friday 9 August.
Canteen News

School Uniform
School Uniforms are important at Rosebank PS and the NSW
Department of Education supports the wearing of school
uniform. The wearing of our school uniform helps build self-
confidence, school pride and a sense of belonging at our
school.
Our uniform was developed in collaboration with our school
community and we really appreciate parent/carer
cooperation in supporting all students wearing their uniform
during school hours, while travelling to and from school and
when engaged in school activities outside of school.
Our school uniform also contributes to the personal safety of
our students by allowing easier recognition of students inside
the school and in the community. Perhaps most importantly,
our uniform helps us maintain our strong culture of equity-we
are one big family. This is a key element to the beautiful
culture of kindness and care that we value so highly.
Have an awesome week everyone from Juanita, Nicky, Oliver,
Kim and Jen (Rosebank Team).

Spontaneous Challenge
Try this one-What is this? Where did it come from? Who does it
belong to? You have three minutes to elaborate. Go!
We respectfully acknowledge the Elders past and present of the
Wijabul Wiyabul people and other peoples of the Bunjalung
Nation.
They are the first peoples of this land, which has long been a
place of learning for Aboriginal people.
