15 Good safety housekeeping significantly reduces the risk of accidents and injuries in the workplace. This program shows employees how to pay special attention to housekeeping considerations. It encourages them to develop a "Safety First" state of mind - learning to recognize potentially hazardous conditions and becoming very familiar with the risks involved in their jobs. Correct operating procedures when handling tools, chemicals, and personal protective equipment are shown.

With the audience on the edge of their seats, Charlie drives home the importance of following safety procedures. Everyone wakes up to the high cost of an accident not only to themselves but to their family. Seldom are people confronted by real consequences of an abuse in safety practices. If you and your employees Remember Charlie you will remember to follow safety procedures.

S3 0309 IFICOULDAWOULDASHOULDA 5 How does it feel to know you have gambled with safety - and lost? As Harvey falls to his fate, he looks at what he could have, should have and would have done to avoid his fatal fall.

FALLS (tripping, slipping, and falling)

S12 1203 PREVENTING THE FALL 10 Falls from high places frequently cause serious injury or death. Fortunately, personal fall protection equipment can prevent these casualties. Unfortunately, workers often fail to use the equipment they have. Some workers use the proper equipment, but use it incorrectly. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) estimates that these mistakes kill 300 people each year and injure another 5,400. These deaths can be avoided, but only if you, the individual worker, do your part. You're the one who must hook up whenever there is any danger of a fall.

S12 1204 SLIPS, TRIPS & FALLS 17 Falls account for almost 400,000 workplace injuries each year. In more than half of these, the victims slipped, tripped, or fell on the same level where they were walking. Maybe it's a slick surface, a tool left on the floor, or a ladder with a broken step. Preventing slips, trips and falls takes a team effort: Watch for hazards, keep a safety-first attitude. Take action before someone gets hurt.

GROWING SOLUTIONS 15 Reconciling a reliable supply of electric power with the desire to preserve and

protect our trees is more than a dispute between community power needs and individual homeowners. It is an issue that affects the quality of life of entire communities. This video was developed to address this powerful problem and to focus attention on long-term growing solutions.

S18 1807 VACATION SAFETY: PLAY IT SAFE

11 Vacations can be as stressful as they are enjoyable. When you plan ahead and keep safety in mind from the start, you can minimize the problems and maximize the fun. REMEMBER: Get the whole family involved in the planning. Make checklists and travel arrangements in advance. Leave emergency phone numbers with trusted neighbors or friends. Plan for a safe road trip, including checking your vehicle maintenance and securing your vehicle against theft and carjacking. Keep personal safety in mind everywhere you go. Take proper precautions in both hot and cold weather.

MOTOR VEHICLE

S19 1913 GET IT TOGETHER: SEAT BELT SAFETY

14 This video is a training program designed to motivate employees to use the restraint systems provided in their vehicles whenever they drive. The program gives an overview of the grim statistics associated with automobile accidents, explains the anatomy of a crash, describes the difference the use of seat belts can make and summarizes the effectiveness of seat belt and airbag usage.

S19 1914 NIGHT DRIVING 5 At night, driving even familiar streets and highways can become more difficult and dangerous. Safety tips for nighttime driving are shown.

S19 1915 CAR JACKS 5 Changing a flat tire can be a nuisance and a real danger when safety is ignored. A review of safe car jack use is offered.

S19 1916 DRIVING SAFETY 16 Most employees do not see driving as a dangerous activity, yet motor vehicle accidents are the number one cause of death on the job. Overall, each year more than 30,000 lives are lost, and more than one million people are seriously injured from traffic accidents. Because traffic accidents cause so much pain and suffering, (and can even be deadly), employees need to develop safer driving skills. Learning how to minimize the risk involved with driving any type of vehicle, and how to avoid dangerous driving situations are things everyone should know how to do, both on and off the job.

S19 1917 REAL LIFE SAFE DRIVING 18 In real life - and in driving - Awareness of your surroundings in combination with your Attitude dictates your Actions. What are the hazards you face on the road? Are you thinking about safety? What choice will you make? Driving is the most dangerous thing you do. Even though 44,000 people die on our roads each year, most drivers do not give it the respect and focus it needs. When you do most things you share the responsibility with other people. When you operate a motor vehicle, you are 150% in charge. You cannot count on arriving safely unless you focus all your attention and then some.
