Today, an abridged report is being sent home with your child. The report allows us to inform parents and carers on what was being taught in literacy and Numeracy, giving consideration to the fact that we didn't finish last term successfully. The short term meant assessments were not completed and learning was altered considerably. We hope by sending home a report at the end of this semester it will give a fresh start for term 3. We have scheduled interviews for week 3 of term 3 so we can discuss future learning and review personal learning goals. We will nut out the social distancing requirements before that time so we can all meet safely. If you would like to speak to your child's teacher this term, please contact the office and they will return your call. Whole School Reward Thursday This week is Random Act of Kindness Week -so our SRC will be ensuring everyone will be thanked for their respectful behaviour and thoughtfulness with an out of uniform day and a free disco in the hall for both Primary and Infants on Thursday. Each child will receive a popper and a packet of chips there will be dancing, competitions and great prizes on offer. The SRC are looking forward to their first big event for the year, as they have not had many opportunities to organise fun things for the students to do, due to restrictions. The times for disco fun are as follows: Kinder to year 2 1.30 pm to 2.15 pm Stage 2 9.45 am to 10.45 am Stage 3 12.15 pm to 1.15 pm Support will join in with their age appropriate group of friends. Thank you Thank you for your support this term That was the most unusual term I have ever had in my whole teaching career. Let’s cross our fingers that everyone does the right thing during the break to keep us all safe and possibly reduce some of our restrictions going into next term . We are already thinking about Year 6 Farewells, Kinder Transitions and Presentation Nights and what they will look like moving forward. Even our Athletics carnival has many restrictions attached to it at this point - but we are working through them. Have a happy and healthy holiday, and when we return we hope all will be back to a 'more normal' schooling. But saying that, your children have been magnificent. They have all grown up a little, been so responsible and are now big people walking in and adapting to changes. Kids are much better at change than adults. They really understand the importance of washing hands and staying home when they are sick. School returns on TUESDAY - 21 July. See you then. Anne van Dartel
