Each year, the International Debate Education Association (IDEA) sponsors and organizes the IDEA China Open Debate Tournament. The tournament brings together university students from across China, as well as a handful of non-Chinese students, to debate important issues facing China and the world. The tournament regularly includes over 300 participants with each division featuring more than 40 two-person teams and a large number of judges and coaches.
