Begin this vibrant tour on the corner of Brambleton Avenue and Granby Street. Here, your eyes will widen as you take in these larger than life murals Go ahead, take a walk on the brighter side!

New Energy Of Norfolk, Richard Nickel and Clay McGlamory (2015).114 West Brambleton AvenueThis bright-eyed mural sets the happy tone for the NEON District. Created by two Old Dominion Univeristy professors, this mural wel-comes you to the young and vibrant district.

NFK ARTS, Elliot Addesso (2013).711 Granby StreetFunded by the Norfolk Public Art Program, this mural is a collabora-tion of Elliot Addesso and students from the Emerging Leaders pro-gram.

Norfolk Nautical, Chris Soria and Misha Tyutyunik (2015).724 Granby StreetThis duet mural was created in 48 hours by the hands of Chris Soria and Misha Tyutyunik. The Matisse-inspired vibrant cutout of distinctly Norfolk images perfectly depict the rich history of the city’s past and vibrant hopes of its future.

Glimpse, Khalil Riddick (2015).724 Granby StreetA mural not to be missed! This beautiful piece is joined by two other murals surrounding the building on Granby Street.

Widows Walk, Mickael Broth and James Callahan (2015).725 Granby StreetThis is the third mural painted on the Granby Street builing. A large, vibrant collaboration of Mickeal Broth and James Callahan of Barf Comics.

Love, Alan Jelercic and Victoria Farr (2014).735 Granby StreetThis perfectly titled mural is the literal love child of local artists Alan Jelercic and Victoria Farr.

Razzle Dazzle, Nick Kuszk (2014).746 Granby StreetInspired by the Navy’s camouflage technique, this large scale mural was one of the first colorful additions to the NEON District.

Octopus Girl, Victoria Weiss (2015).746 Granby StreetThis mural was created by whimsical local artist Victoria Weiss for the 2015 NEON Festival.

Green Machine, Hampton Boyer (2016).795 Monticello AvenueInspired by his young son and perseving the enviorment, local artist Hampton Boyer created this very “green” mural.

Cementiscope, Glassitorium (2015).776 Granby StreetTrust that this is no ordinary cement mixer! Created by the artist group Glassitorium, inside this piece of art is a kaleidoscope that allows view-ers to be interactive and see in a lively, vibrant way.

Transparent Seas, Jason Leveque and Grow (2016).745 Granby StreetLooks may be deceiving and this interactive mural is going to prove it! The 40’ installation, created by Jason Levesque and Grow, uses light, color and movement to transform and delight.

Push It Real Good, Heidi Peelen (2016).763 Granby StreetThis mural graces the storefront of local laugh-house Push Comedy Theater and it is the creation of artist Heidi Peelen.

Happier Times, Troy Summerrell (2015).801 Granby StreetBrightly colored fish adorn the outside of the 801 Granby building. These vibrant colors are the hallmoark of Onie Tonie artist Troy Sum-merrell.

Seep, Erik L. Peterson (2016).801 Granby StreetStemming from Work | Release’s inaugural exhibit, this installation has come home to Norfolk and can be seen oozing on the north side wall of the 801 Granby building.

Symbiotic Nuances, Solomon Isekeije (2016).806 Granby StreetThis dynamic mural was painted by Norfolk State Univeristy professor and artist Solomonan Isekeije. Drawing inspiration from the works of Picasso to African textiles, this mural is a colorful synergy of the arts.

The Dance, Amelia Langford (2016).814 Granby Street This creative piece was created by Richmond artist Amelia Langford. Using the exsisting paint on the wall, the artist was able to create a warming tone to her nature inspired piece.

We Can Create What We Can Imagine, Esteban Del Valle and Julia Rogers (2015).814 Brambleton AvenueA beautiful wraparound mural depicts how art can inspire creative growth the the world. This piece is a collaborative effort from NYC artist Esteban Del Valle and local glass artist Juilia Rogers.

Space Explorations, John Hickey and James Akers (2015).819 Granby StreetOriginal painted by artist John Hickey, this mural is adorned with in-tergalactic themed neon lights installed by Glass Studio artist James Akers.

Gateway Towers, John Rudel (2013).711 Granby StreetThe four totem-like statues are the welcoming committee to the NEON District. Sculpted out of recycled bus signs, artist John Rudel teamed up with Norfolk’s Emerging Leaders program to create these solar powered sculptures.

USS Renova, Howard Schwartz (2012).129 West Virginia Beach BoulevardLocated along the outer edge of the NEON District, this underwa-ter mural depicts a whimsical mermaid swimming along a submarine. Take a closer look and notice the colorful aquatic life in the depths of the mural.

Running down the middle of the NEON District is Magazine Lane. This long alley way is home to many hidden murals that you don’t want to miss!

Kaiya With Finch, Nills Westergard (2015).Magazine LaneOne of the very first murals to appear on Magazine Lane, Kaiya With Finch is the work of Richmond artist Nills Westegard. The larger-than-life black and white mural creates a blend of beauty and darkness.

Wild Alley, Hannah Kirkpatrick and Governor’s School for the Arts Students (2015).Magazine LaneA collaboration piece brightens up the dark alley ways, proving that beauty can be found wherever you seek it.

All The Pieces Matter, Elizabeth Cooke (2015).Magazine LaneThis mural was painted by Hampton artist Elizabeth Cooke for the 2015 NEON Festival.

With The Current, Christopher Revels and A.Valid (2015).Magazine LaneThis collaorative mural was designed for the 2015 NEON Festival. Equally representing both artists, painted on the wall are walking houses for Christopher Revels and ‘V’s for Alex Dejesus--aka A.Valid.

Labor Of Love, Hannah Kirkpatrick (2015).128 West Olney RoadThis neon pink EKG inspired installation is displayed outside of the Glass Wheel Studio. Written in the handwritting of artist Hannah Kirkpatrick, this beautiful piece is the heartbeat of the arts district and it is a reminder of what it takes to be a creative.

Untitled, HENSE (2015).128 West Olney RoadThis large scale mural is not one to be missed! The mix of bright col-ors, abstract design and graffiti effects are the foundations of world renowned artist HENSE--aka Alex Brewer.

Seasons, Navid Rahman (2015).801 Boush StreetLocated outside of the Hope House Building, this mural was created by local artist Navid Rahman.

Bloom, Carl Medley III and Charles Rasputin (2015).801 Boush StreetDon’t let the fangs scare you, this mural’s bark is more than its bite! Behind the pearly whites are eye-catching pink roses that add softness and femininity to this eye-catching mural.

Lunar Bathing, Sage (2015).217 Grace StreetThis colorful piece adorns the outside of Nouvelle, a delicious gourmet French fusion restaurant tucked away on Grace Street. Stop by to see this mural with your own eyes and then pop inside and treat yourself to some edible art.

Reach, Heather Bryant (2016).117 West Olney RoadThis old shipping container has been brought to life by the hands of local artist Heather Bryant. Take a peak behind the Virginia Furniture company to fid this hidden gem & then continue your walk down the other end of Magazine Lane.

Blue Sky, John Rudel (2015).Magazine LaneCompleted in 2015 for the NEON Festival, this sky-themed mural is on the outer wall of the Virginia Furniture Company. Combining both realistic and pixaleted styles, this mural cannot be missed as it sits on the corner of Olney and Magazine Lane.

Hats, Music and Tecnology, Clyde Santana (2016).Magazine LaneThis mural is a collaboration between Clyde Santana and Norfolk State University students working together to pay tribute to men’s fashion throughout the century.

27 Beecycles, Matt Lively (2016).Magazine LaneAs you continue your walk down Magazine lane, take a look and notice the 27 beecyles flying through the sky. This mural was created by Matt Lively and the support of the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art.

Fuzion Ink Wall, Various Artist.Magazine LaneBehind legendary tattoo parlor Fuzion Ink is a rotating mural. This mural changes often giving opportunities to artists young and old to add beauty to this thriving district.

Along your journey don’t forget the the NEON District is also home to the Chrysler Museum of Art and Glass Studio, The Glass Wheel Studio, Work | Release and more! The district is also filled with many electic dining options such as Zeke’s Beans and Bowls and Nouvelle. There is always something to look for-ward to in the NEON District!
