HEISLER HOSPITALITY INTRODUCES PUB ROYALE An Eclectic British Pub with Anglo-Indian Fare Opens in Wicker Park CHICAGO, Ill (May 2015) - Matt Eisler and Kevin Heisner of Heisler have spent the past eight years creating exceptional neighborhood tavern and restaurant concepts that strike a balance between novelty and familiarity. Following a quiet 2014, Heisler opens its first new spot, Pub Royale (2049 W. Division) this May in Wicker Park. Current Heisler Hospitality properties include Bar DeVille, Nightwood, Trenchermen, Lone Wolf, Sportsman’s Club and The Revel Room. Pub Royale is a study on the modern British pub and a beer bar at heart. Looking beyond regionality, Beverage Manager Michael McAvena (Publican) curates a didactic yet approachable menu that champi- ons quality and craft above all else. The 24-tap system pours beers, ciders, meads and a shandygaff. Pub Royale showcases a wide array of styles and breweries, ranging from rare, unique and esoteric to home- town heroes. A concise cocktail menu features a rotation of four seasonal Royale Cups, created in partner- ship with our friends at Letherbee. Heisler’s Director of Culinary Development, Chef Jason Vaughan (Michael Mina, L2O, Au Cheval) em- ploys a similarly exploratory approach to British food culture, resulting in a menu of British Indian and Northern Indian fare. Consideration was given to create dishes that not only pair well with beer, but also appeal to both adventurous and more traditional diners. From the Chinese-influenced Szechuan Tripe and the spicy Indian Hot Chicken to the refreshing Cucumber Raita and token Royale with Cheese, Pub Royale offers a wide range of flavors. The food and drink find a perfect backdrop in designer Kevin Heisner’s equally eccentric space, with touches of Indian pop culture and a Bohemian feel, including stuffed Indian White Peacock that flank the back bar. As with most Heisler properties, Heisner aims to preserve the authenticity of the space by repur- posing the beautiful, mirrored back bar and ornate light fixtures used by previous tenant, SmallBar. Cus- tom brass studded stools line both the bar and center tables while booths and a wood and marble commu- nity table round out seating for 80. A Division Street patio (seating 40) is slated to open this season as well. Pub Royale is the first Heisler opening of three planned for 2015. The group will introduce a cocktail bar, The Queen Mary (2125 W. Division St.) in Wicker Park and an unnamed all day concept (802 W. Ran- dolph) in the West Loop. Heisler will also finalize a Logan Square tavern (2450 N. Milwaukee) for a fall 2015 opening.
