• An exam period is scheduled for at least 90 minutes. All teachers giving exams shall be expected to plan for review time prior to the exam day. Review must not be scheduled on a major religious holiday. STUDENT ATTENDANCE DURING EXAMS • There are probably no factors more important to a student’s progress in school than regular and punctual attendance. • Middle Schools shall not exempt students from academic performance requirements, such as final exams, based on practices or policies designed to encourage student attendance. A student’s attendance record may not be used in whole or in part to provide an exemption from any academic performance requirement. EXAM GRADE REPORTING • Pinellas County district level End of Course (EOCs) or End of Year (EOYs) assessments will count 10% of the student’s semester and/or final course grade. This exam grade is independent of the grade for the quarter, and will be averaged with the quarter grades as a 1/10 component of the final grade.

For Mid-Term Exams (December 2014) Timeline: Dec 8 – 12, 2014 Assessments delivered to School/Teacher start printing answer sheets.

Dec 15 – 18, 2014 Testing Window

Dec 19, 2014 Make Up Testing

Students who miss the above assessment window with an excused absence can be given a make up test on either 12/19, 1/6 or 1/7/15.

Grades are due on January 9, 2015.

Visual & Performing Arts will test online between 12/4 – 12/12.

Grade Posting – Year-Long Elective Courses FOR YEAR-Long ELECTIVE COURSES

Grade Posting Scheme: MS Elective Full Year Middle School students enrolled in year-long courses will only take a “final” exam in May. The results of this test will count as 10% of the final course grade. Calculation of the Year-long grade: Q1 + Q2 + Q3 + Q4 + DD EOC (10%) = Course Final Grade Optional mid-term for year-long courses (teacher choice): A teacher assigned to a year-long elective course can create and give a teacher developed mid-term exam (the grade for this should be part of the 2nd quarter grade). Calculation of the Year-long grade: S1 + S2 + DD EOC (10%) = Course Final Grade

Grade Posting – Core Courses Middle School Students Enrolled in Grades 6-8 Math and 8th Grade Science Grade Posting Scheme: MS Academic Florida EOC 00 • 1st Semester: Q1 + Q2 + DD Mid-Term (10%) = Semester Final Grade • 2nd Semester: Q3 + Q4 = Semester Final Grade • Calculation of the Year-long grade: S1 + S2 / 2 = Course Final Grade

Grade Posting – Core Courses Middle School Students Enrolled in Grades 6 & 7 Science and Grades 6 & 8 Social Studies Grade Posting Scheme: MS Academic Local EOC • 1st Semester: Q1 + Q2 + DD Mid-Term (10%) = Semester Final Grade • 2nd Semester: Q3 + Q4 + DD EOC (10%) = Semester Final Grade • Calculation of the Year-long grade: S1 + S2 / 2 = Course Final Grade
