Coly Wirlin expnionNetwork operators and enterprises alike oten

rst consider meeting their expansion or backhaul

needs by adding additional wireline connectivity to

their existing networks. Many are in or a shock,

however, when they see the price tag o adding

new wired capability. The cost, or example, to

deploy new wireline service to another building or

outlying acility can be enormous. And thats not

the only cost issue. Many organizations are also

discovering that the monthly recurring lease costs

o adding additional T1/E1 lines can also strain

    pared-down budgets.

Moorol Co-effciv PtP 100 sriThe answer is the highly aordable PTP 100 Series

Point-to-Point wireless solution rom industry leader

Motorola. The PTP 100 Series o wireless Ethernet

bridges provides a powerul new opportunity or

network operators and enterprises to expand their

    present and uture broadband communications

capabilities much more eciently and aordably.

PTP 100 solutions signicantly lower cost o entry,

but thats just the beginning. As communications

needs grow, the PTP 100 Series also oers a

    simple, cost-conscious sotware key-based upgrade

path to higher capacity to support growth and

increased voice, video and data requirements.

For virtually every telecommunications operator and enterprise in todaysglobal economy, access to high-speed communications is key to rapid andsustained growth. Todays broadband communications networks are thebackbone o businesses that rely on the capture, analysis and disseminationo critical inormation. Thats why its no surprise that despite todays uncertain

economic environment a great many organizations are planning to extend andexpand their communications networks to help them meet their business goals. Many, however, ace one major obstacle: cost. Motorolas PTP 100 SeriesPoint-to-Point wireless solutions address the need or increased broadbandcapacity and capability at more aordable prices.

    The PTP 100 Series

    sotware key-based, over-

    the-air upgrade system

    is a highly aordable

    and fexible solution or

    increasing throughput

    and acilitating network

    and business growth. An

    enterprise can upgrade a

    2 Mbps backhaul to 4 Mbpsby purchasing a low-cost

    sotware key. An additional

    key can be purchased to

    upgrade the network to

7.5 Mbps. A third key is

    available that will upgrade

    the system to 14 Mbps

    aggregate throughput.

The Lowest Cost o Entry or the Highest Quality Wireless Broadband

    Exceptional Perormance and Reliability

    Today, Tomorrow and Beyond

The PTP 100 Series provides the ultimate support or network operators andenterprises as they begin to succeed and grow. In addition to its remarkably lowinitial costs, the PTP 100 Series also oers the scalability o simple, aordablesotware key-based license upgrades that provide additional perormance andcapacity at exactly the right time.

    applications or public

    and private systems.

Flexibility and scalability are the hallmarks o the

PTP 100 Series. An organization can begin with a

high quality system that delivers 2 Mbps o aggre-

gate throughput at one o the lowest initial costs in

the industry. When upgrades are needed, the user

simply purchases sotware license keys that allow

incremental over-the-air upgrades to 4 Mbps or7.5 aggregate data rates. Licenses that deliver

14 Mbps are also available. Upgrades are ast,

    easy and remarkably aordable.

Although the PTP 100 Series has a remarkably low

cost o entry, the network provides exceptionally

high perormance, high reliability and many other

    leading-edge system benets, including:

    SpectrumChoices. The PTP 100 provides

wireless broadband access in a wide range o

spectrum options including the 2.4, 5.2, 5.4 and

    5.8 GHz unlicensed requencies.

ExtendedRange. When using a refector, the PTP

100 Series can deliver ranges o up to 35 Miles

    (56 kilometers) in Line-o-Sight environments.

    SecurityOptions. With its built-in over-the-air

DES encryption, and the available AES encryption

option, the PTP 100 makes code breaking virtually

impossible and delivers data with optimum reli-

    ability and security.

    InterferenceResistance. The PTP 100 Series

    oers powerul multi-level modulation schemes

that help penetrate signal path obstacles, mitigate

against intererence rom other systems and avoid

    sel-intererence.

FasterDeployment. Because it needs none o

the expensive trenching usually necessary or a

wireline network expansion, the PTP 100 Series

can be deployed more cost eectively in a matter

o hours or days, rather than weeks, months or

    even years.

    applicion

The PTP 100 Series enables organizations to

establish reliable and secure point-to-point wireless

links or bandwidth-intensive applications across a

wide variety o environments. The PTP 100 provides

    fexible options that cost-eectively deliver

    consistently high perormance in Line-o-Sight

    (LoS) situations. Typical applications include:

    T1/E1Replacement. PTP 100 Series wireless

solutions are quickly becoming a preerred choice

or the replacement o costly leased T1/E1 phone

lines. Replacing public phone lines with a private

broadband network also provides more control

    over perormance, availability and price.

    IP-BasedConnectivity. The PTP 100 provides

IP-based data connectivity that helps unite busi-

ness, educational, medical and other environments

Secure, reliable point-to-point links can connect

buildings, outlying locations and remote acilities

    simply, quickly and cost-eectively.

    CellularBackhaul. For virtually any network

operators needing more backhaul capacity, the

PTP 100 Series oers highly reliable, low latency

    solutions at very aordable prices.

    VideoSurveillance. Video surveillance is

becoming an increasingly important saety and

productivity tool. The PTP 100 Series is a low-

cost, scalable solution or applications such as

monitoring access to acilities and providing 24/7

visibility o remote and high-activity locations.

The PTP 100 is also being used to provide

productivity benets and cost savings in numerousother applications such as rural connectivity,

    temporary and emergency networks, E-Learning,

    telemedicine and many more.

The PTP 100 Series leverages Motorolas more than

80 years o wireless industry leadership, innovation

and worldwide customer service and support.

NOTE: The PTP 100 Series 2 and 4 Mbps are not available in all regions, please check with your Motorola sales representative or urther inormation.
