What is Miracle? Pope Miracle partners with UGA® Miracle in order to fundraise for Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. The donations that we receive go towards Rehabilitation Services as well as the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders center. Our Purpose Each year, thousands of children receive a diagnosis that changes not only their lives, but the lives of people around them. As an organization, we strive to give the families at Children’s a support system as well as an opportunity for them to return to a “normal” life. In addition to raising funds for the hospital, the events that we put on throughout the year serve to help our students establish leadership experience, communication skills, and form connections with local businesses. This environment provides a unique opportunity for our club members to grow as individuals, create lasting friendships, and leave an impact on families that have experienced more than we could ever imagine. 1 Why fundraise? Since 1995, UGA® Miracle has donated over $9 million to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta with the help of their students as well as high school programs. These programs have been a huge contributor to the hospital and have impacted thousands of children’s lives. Every Dollar Counts $50: Case of baby bottles $100: Wagon for patient transportation $200: Language translation software $500: Disposable, ingestible pill camera $1,800: Pediatric wheelchair $2,762: Basic crib $5,000: Radiation therapy Our Kids Parker Grelecki (pictured on the right) is a huge part of our Miracle family. He was born with hydrocephalus and required a shunt to be put in at just two days old in order to drain the excess fluid in his brain. Over the next nine months, Parker underwent a series of shunt and cranio-facial surgeries to ensure proper draining of the fluid and to reshape his skull. Parker has far exceeded the doctors’ expectations and continues to share his love for the Georgia Bulldogs with everyone he meets. POPE MIRACLE In coalition with UGA® Miracle

How Do I Get Involved?

Sponsorships

Pope Miracle is in search of sponsors! A sponsorship provides a way to significantly impact the lives of children and families as well as a way to connect with the student body of the students involved in the organization!

Donations

Each student involved in Pope Miracle has a personal donor drive account that they fundraise on! The donations go straight to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta and contribute not only to the student’s personal goal but the club goal too!

Engagement

Our club aims to engage not only its members, but the community around them. Throughout the year, we put on events such as school wide fundraisers and percentage nights that provide a source of revenue for the hospital as well as bring the school and community together for a common cause. The year culminates in a four hour High School Dance Marathon which serves to celebrate the hard work of the club members, meet and hang out with the Miracle kids and their families, and get to know the students that are involved in UGA® Miracle. This celebration also provides an opportunity to receive service points for students who require them. Students are also invited to celebrate the end of UGA® Miracle’s year with a 24 hour Dance Marathon!

The experiences that students receive from participating in this organization are truly unlike anything else. It is an incredible opportunity to be able to support a cause that is so close to home and benefits so many families while gaining skills that are beneficial to the club’s members.
