The advertisement poster is about a facial product which targets females as their main
customers.The product’s brand name is Loreal Paris,which is a top beauty brand selling
worldwide.The poster is referring to Loreal’s latest skincare product called Hydrafresh. This
advertisement reflected the mechanism of persuasion on customers.
What is persuasion?Persuasion refers to efforts to change others’ attitudes through the use of
various kinds of messages.In this advertisement,the product is targeting to persuade female
customers.
First of all,the advertisement shows a beautiful face with flawless skin of a person in order
to promote the effectiveness of their product.Hence,the ambassador of this product,Aishwarya Rai
has became the credible and attractive communicator in this advertisement as she has beautiful
flawless skin which can easily convince the customers to buy the product in order to have the skin
like hers.For example,she said :”Finally a moisturiser that makes my skin look fresh throughout the
day and more”.This sentence indicates that she is looking good after using the product.As a
result,people are more easily persuaded when there is a credible and attractive communicator.

On the other hand,the advertisement also uses some messages that is persuasive such as
‘48hrs of continuous hydration’ and ‘A revolutionary moisturiser that goes on working,long after
you’ve stopped’.The messages seem to convince their customer that their product doesn’t only work
temporarily but it is long-effective.That is a powerful message as it is telling the customers that
their product is special and different from the other products.Besides there are also some messages
with emotional contents telling how their product specifically works,this is to convince their
customers to trust their product and their brand.With those effective messages,customers are more
easily persuaded.That is how the mechanism of persuasion works.
