Interested applicants (1825 years old) from universities or organizations in ASEAN and outside ASEAN countries are encouraged to apply. AYIEP 2017 is a 7days shortcourse program held by the ASEAN Studies Center, Universitas Gadjah Mada. We are calling Young Future Leaders from ASEAN and other countries to get involved in this knowledge exchange experience. From 23 to 29 July, 2017, delegates will be fueled by series of activities which will enhance their digital comprehension across the region. We shall connect ASEAN in digital era in three key pillars: digital diplomacy, digital activism, and digital citizenship. Fifty (50) selected participants will be gathered in Yogyakarta to attend series of programs with a theme on “Digitalizing ASEAN: Fostering Community through Digital Connectivity”. (ASC), Faculty of Politic and Social Science (FISIPOL), Universitas Gadjah Mada, invites thesharing an experience on the issue of Digital Diplomacy, Digital Activism and Digital Citizenship to foster the community through The 2nd ASEAN Youth Initiative Empowerment Program: Digitalizing ASEAN: Fostering Community through Digital Connectivity We see the importance of including these topic in regard to the enhancement of youth capacity and capability to obtain the benefit of digital era in constructing the community. Moreover, the youth as the future leader need a platform to fully contribute in searching the best solution for the current and upcoming problem of ASEAN.

n d T h e 2 A S E A N Yo u t h I n i t i a t i v e Empowerment Program will be held on July 23-29 2017 in Yogyakarta with the objectives of:

1. Introducing the realm of digital connectivity to ASEAN young future leaders.

2. Empowering ASEAN young future leader.3. Increasing the problem solution of ASEAN

and the member issues through digital connectivity.

st In order to continue the success of 1 ASEAN Youth Initiative Empowerment Program 2016 with the conscious of existing ties of history, geography, and culture which have bound the people together, and convinced of the need to strengthen existing bonds of regional solidarity, the awareness of the importance of ASEAN as a regional organization should have been increased. The regional connectivity within the people and nation-state believed as the importance part in communicating and deliberating the ASEAN member to solve and promote its issues. Moreover, the advancement of technology, communication, and information in ASEAN countries has also become a bridge in connecting the ASEAN member States and peoples which separated in Southeast Asia. Due to the advancement of digital era, ASEAN young future leaders have been paying special attention to the task of connecting community in ASEAN. The ASEAN Studies Center

As a leading regional organization in Southeast Asia, ASEAN has showcased the significant role in maintaining the regional stability and enhancing free market economic cooperation in line with the regionalism in Southeast Asia. Attributed to those achievements, ASEAN has demonstrated its capability becoming the most prominent and credible for approximately 40 years.Against this backdrop, Univesitas Gadjah Mada collaboratively cooperates with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia established the ASEAN Studies Center. This initiative is to create the research center which

responsible in conducting critical and objective review, as well as the institutional adjustment to enhance the role of ASEAN, including economic, political-security, and socio-cultural. Thus, it may provide the latest development of ASEAN for Indonesian policy formulation towards ASEAN and widespread society.

ASEAN Studies Center, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada is established as a multidisciplinary research center in line with Tri Dharma principle (Teaching, Research, and Community Service) and particularly associated to the study of ASEAN.

Universitas Gadjah Mada (Gadjah Mada University, UGM) is an Indonesia public Ivy League research university located in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, founded on December 19, 1949. UGM is the oldest and largest institution of higher learning in Indonesia. The university comprises of 18 faculties, 68 undergraduate study programs, 23 diploma study programs, 104 master and specialist study programs, and 43 Doctorate study programs.It has approximately 55,000 students, 1,187 foreign students and 2,500 faculty members currently. UGM is implementing an educopolis area, a step taken by universities in creating conducive environment for the continuity id the learning process. These efforts are pursued in the context of developing multidisciplinary collaboration and responding on ecological issues in order to achieve the vision of the university. Some of the steps are reducing pollution and vehicle exhaust emission, development of pedestrian, restriction of vehicles entering the campus, construction of new dormitories on the campus, development of parking pockets, planting the trees green and so on.

digital activism, and digital citizenship issues.Ÿ Applicant is willing to work in team during the program.Ÿ Applicant is having willingness to share the knowledge in their home country as a

post program output.

2. Participants must pay registration fee USD $350 in a week (17 June 2017) after the announcement of the selected participants.

3. Participants must send confirmation email attaching payment evidence and airfare ticket (scan/copy) to the committee of AYIEP ([email protected])

4. The committee will confirm the payment after received the confirmation email.

Applicant must afford registration fee and travel allowance individually. And for those who came from Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam are eligible to apply for a partial support. The scholarship would be given to selected participants who meet the requirements, as follows:
