P O W E R S E R V I C E Serving the Industry Since 1954 Denver, CO Salt Lake City, UT Billings, MT Green River, WY Casper, WY Power Service, Inc. has made an effort this past year to broaden our overall manufacturing capabilities. This also includes better marketing of our near 30,000 sq. ft. of fabrication and shop facilities. One example of this growth is the production of approximately 20 - 30 LACT units per month. This is our newest line of turnkey packages that feature our Flowserve/Durco Mark III ANSI centrifugal pump and Flowserve SMP sample pump. The Lease Automatic Custody Transfer unit (LACT) is designed for the automatic transfer of ownership of crude or condensate between the buyer and seller. We are currently building an “Open Style” unit on an oil field type skid, along with a complete turnkey package to include a fiberglass or steel building. All are pre-wired with explosion-proof lights, heaters, junction boxes, and PLC’s. The package unit will be ready to be set at location for ease of customer hook-up and designed to handle the harsh Rocky Mountain winters. Power Service, Inc. has increased our inside sales staff support along with drafting and engineering support to provide a superior product and design. A Wyoming Independent Oil & Gas Producer recently partnered with Power Service, Inc. to fabricate their water disposal facility near the Atlantic Rim Area of South Central Wyoming. A portable water disposal facility was created from initial design to fabrica-tion and finally shipment to site by Power Service, Inc.’s Design & Engineering team. Past experience allows us to accurately and efficiently propose and construct water disposal facilities.

The system consisted of a 16’ x 60’ injection pump facility and a 16’ x 55’ charge pump/filter & electrical facility. Each building weighed in excess of 100,000 lbs. The charge pump area con-sisted of (2) Durco ANSI charge pumps, (2) Durco ANSI transfer pumps, (2) FSI Filter Vessels, catwalks, and all interconnecting pipe. The Electrical room consisted of (2) 600 HP VFD’s with Mirus harmonic filters, Allen Bradley Touch Screen PLC, charge pump and booster pump starters, and all necessary transform-ers/breakers and other miscellaneous electrical equipment.

The Injection facility consisted of (2) 600 HP Schlumberger REDA Horizontal Centrifugal Pumps that could flow at ranges of 6,000 BPD to 24,000 BPD at pressures of 350 psig up to 1600 psig. These pumps discharge to an engineered and fully automat-ed manifold system that included Taylor MDI chokes, Vavlcon Actuators, Rosemount Transmitters, and EDD flow meters. This system was designed to allow water dis-posal to up to 6 wells at varying pressure and flow rates while maintaining a constant flow and pressure rate out of the Schlum-berger REDA pumps. The facility also included a 6,000 lb bridge crane that ran the entire length of the building.

For more information on skidded or site-built water disposal plants, please contact your local Power Service, Inc. branch or Tony Cercy toll free at (800)743-4774 ext. 228 or email him at [email protected].

Lease Automatic Custody Transfer Units( L A C T )

One of the newest lines of fabrication to Power Ser-vice Inc. is the Lease Automatic Custody Transfer unit or LACT unit.

The LACT unit was designed for the automatic transfer of ownership of crude or condensate between the buyer and seller.

This transfer can be on land or offshore, into pipelines, barges, and tanker loading and off-loading operations.

On land, LACT units are usually small, single run sys-tems with portable proving connections designed for loading into trucks.

Power Service, Inc. understands that offshore space is a premium. Thus, units can be built in any number of configurations and footprints, but also consider the serviceability of the unit.

Many factors go into the design of LACT units flow rates, space limitations, temperature, viscosity, corro-sion, and customer specifications. As long as these are taken into consideration, one can end up with a quality measurement system.
