INTRODUCTIONPakistan School of Fashion Design and L'ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la couture Parisienne , France . PSFD is the first institution that offers graduates training in fashion design, in Pakistan . The PSFD provides an opportunity to study fashion design from modern and historical perspective and highly skilled scientific techniques of haute couture garment design and constructions. The EPB successfully arranged affiliation of PSFD with the L'ecole de la Chambre Syndicale de la couture Parisienns, on of the prestigious French Federation Fashion Design Schools.

ACADEMICThe curriculum followed in the four year degree program in founded by La Chambre De Syndicale de la Couture Parisienne and the PSFD administration and the faculty. The elements of the local Industry and heritage are blended are blended in the following taught courses:

FASHION DESIGNINGIn fashion design emphasis is placed on Fashion theme development Research and development of ideas. Storyboard creation. Drawing and Illustration Studying trends

TEXTILE DESIGNINGTextile design involves the creation of designs and repeat patterns for the textile industry. The course is taught with an emphasis on fashion and surface design. The subject also involves experimentation in creating fabric surfaces by weaving, dyeing, screen printing and other techniques.

DRAPINGDraping is one of the pillars of the fashion industry. It is the making of toile (pattern) in three dimensions with the help of pins and grey fabric over a wooden mannequin form.With draping, the designer has the advantage to create new styles and different types of garments. Each student is assigned a separate mannequin for the duration of four years.

ADMISSIONSGeneral Policy Admissions are made on the basis of the students previous qualifications combined with their test result, interview and according to the quota system applied by the Federal government. Number of students to be enrolled, level wise Presently there is an intake of 60 students every year, but this figure is set to increase with the relocation of the school premises to the new location.Procedure and Criteria of admission Admissions of new students are taken annually in the summer months for the classes starting September. There are 3 stages in the admission . IQ test which includes English and Math reasoning and logic along with a general knowledge test A drawing test An interview of the student after clearing the test taken by a panel of judges presided by the principal. The successful candidate is then admitted as a student of PSFD after passing the interview stage.

FEE STRUCTUREAdmission fee - Rs. 8000 Annual Examination Fee - Rs. 1000 Fee for the month - Rs. 8000 Medical Fee - Rs. 100 Refundable Security - Rs. 5000 Workshop Fee - Rs. 1500

QUALIFICATIONSThe student has to have a minimum intermediate level Education or Equivalent.
