Dear Public Safety Academy Parents and Families,
It is with mixed emotions that I tell you I have accepted a position as the
Administrative Program Director for the Tri-Valley Regional Occupational
Program. This is an exciting opportunity for me and for my family.
I have had the distinct pleasure of serving you as the principal at PSA since 2011.
Serving as principal at such a distinguished school has been the unquestioned
highlight of my career.
Together, we have worked for the benefit of our students. Academically our
students have met or exceeded growth targets every year; we have built a behavior
program that celebrates the great choices our students make each day; and we
have continued to offer project-based learning and hands-on experiences to
support the new Common Core State Standards.
We have also started the journey of supporting our students’ exploration of what
lies ahead in their future. Through our pathway program, students are starting to
realize what possibilities exist in today’s world from a global standpoint. I look
forward to seeing our school community strive for the opportunities that will
make our students successful leaders.
Superintendent Kris Corey and Director of Secondary Education Marie Williams
are working to develop a plan to secure the next PSA principal. As soon as the
process and anticipated timeline is confirmed, I am certain you will be receiving
additional information. During this time of transition, I want to assure you that
my dedication to my position of principal will continue.
This school community is an incredible place, and I am humbled to have had the
opportunity to serve you. I will embrace the opportunities for our paths to cross
again. Continue to push your children to set high personal goals, to be people of
character, and to put forth their personal best every day. Our children will do
great things in life!
Sincerely,
Kathleen Frazer, Principal

BOX TOPS AND LABELS FOR EDUCATION WINNERS
If you're someone who doesn't have activities to do after school, but you want to
do something fun where you can interact with other kids, then how about joining
a club? PSA after school clubs have just begun, and you can talk to other kids
from 5th grade thru 10th grade while participating in something you like. There's
things like cheer, book club, survival club, track, yearbook club, key club, etc. In
survival club you'll learn how to survive on your own in the middle of nowhere,
like a desert island for example. They'll teach you the skills you need to know.
How about yearbook club? You'll be able to help put in ideas about how to make
the yearbook look amazing. Pitch in your thoughts, even take pictures when we
have a free dress day, or at the harvest festival. So take a look at the options, pick
something you'll like, and get involved with a club!

The district has given us a new "L" code to start using on our attendance. This
"L" code represents when a cadet is picked up 30 minutes before any period
ends without a valid excuse, they will be marked with an "L". These "L"s will
count towards truancy.
On the flip side, if your cadet is 30+ minutes late to a period without a valid ex-
cuse they are marked with an "O". "O"s also count towards truancy.
Please be aware and conscious of the reasons you are picking your cadet up so
that we can avoid becoming truant.
On behalf of the parents of the Public Safety Academy, we would like to congratulate Ms. Frazer on her new endeavor. Though we are excited for your new opportunity, Ms. Frazer, we cannot help but think of the loss we will have at PSA without your daily presence. Our children have been fortunate to have you as their principal these past few years and we are sure that they will miss your encouragement, guidance and endless support. Thank you for building the foundation of PSA and instilling in our students the pride of what it feels like to be students that are well-respected, looked upon and distinguished within our community. We are grateful for your dedication to making PSA and its students the school that it is. We wish you nothing but success, Parents of PSA
