Our principles

Physical environment may have an impact on the older persons, even more than in young people: buildings and their equipments, the correct design and execution may help to avoid accidents in people who have their capabilities minored by the age. At the same time, they affect in a positive way to their behaviour and independence, choice, confort and social interaction.



•Design finishes should be domestic in appearance, with careful consideration to health and safety issues. •Care should be taken to ensure the correct colour contrasts exist. •All furniture should be age appropriate and not too light in colour or too contemporary/modern in design. •To aid older people memory and recognition it would be useful to have some memory prompts within the wardrobe design. Some clear doors or drawers to prompt recognitions of the clothing items inside. •Lighting is key. A small bedside lamp is required.
