Week One contest winners were seven-year-oldEmily Rockwell ofNorwell and l0-year-old Sumire Maki of Quincy. Emily attends theVinal Elementary School and her winning entry form was for reading Youns CamJansen and the Ice Skate Mystery by David Adler. Sumire is a fifth gtadet at

    Beechwood Knoll Elementary and her winning entry was for the completion of Roxie and the Hooligansby Phyllis Reynolds Naylor.

    Emily's family are customers of the Dependable Cleaners store in Hanover. Her mother, Diane Rockwell,encouraged her to enter. "Emily is often reading books for school," said Diane. "This program is awonderful incentive to promote even more reading over the summer months!"Read to Ride's week two winners were 1l-year-old Tanner Gildea of Cohasset and nine-year-old MaxCarpenter of Milton. Tanner is a fifth-grader at Deer Hill School and entered the contest after readingBrains Benton: The Case of the Counterfeit Coin by George Wyatt. Max is a student at GloverElementary and his winning entry form was for reading Earthquakes! by Helen J. Challand, Ph.D.Tanner learned about the program from his local librarian at the Paul Pratt Memorial Library. Tannervisits the library often and enjoys reading mystery books. "This is the first time we have participated inRead to Ride," said Tanner's mother, Kelli Gildea. 'Now that Tanner has won a bike, his three youngerbrothers will be motivated to read more this summer and enter the contest as well!"Read to Ride offerc children, ages 6-15, the chance to win a bike and helmet for every book they completeduring the program. Participatingin Read to Ride is easy! Entry forms are available at all 16 DependableCleaners locations and participating bike shops through July 11, 2008.
