We are the first state in the nation to create a statewide eLearning system that will provide online learning from Pre-K through college and into the workforce for continuing education and professional development.

Accomplishments…… • Rollout of eLMS, Blackboard

– 17 districts– 3 RECs

• Web conferencing went “live” with 90 rooms and 950 users• CDE ranks IDEAL 6th for policies and procedures.• Scholarship funds were received from corporate and private

donors.• Regional hosting agreements were established with all 9 RECs.• Outreach activities included national/state conferences,

informational meeting with RECs, districts, state agencies, and legislators.

• Pro-active approach to implementing online support services contributed to successful completion rates – 80% (fall 08), 94% (spring 09), and 99% (summer 09).

Quality Assurance: Course Content

• Courses include alignment matrix to NM standards and benchmarks

• Comprehensive evaluation and approval of course content prior to statewide implementation or release

• Pilot phase for each newly developed course to allow for improvements

• 3 year review cycle to ensure courses utilize the latest technology and meet evolving content area requirements

• Content available free to participating districts and schools
