Accuracy The PRC Weigh tControl Filler is the most accurate filler available for diffi-cult-to-fill products. On most products, the total weight range is ± 1/2% PRC achieves this accuracy through a very simple concept: product portioned under constant pressure in a con-stant volume will produce consistent weights. It works—PRC has over 20 years' experience to prove it.

Constant pressure can be provided in two ways: The PRC Twin-Piston Pump/Stuffer provides pressure-sensitive, vacuum-assisted flow into the filler; The PRC Pressure Regulator makes the output of non-pressure-sensitive pumps pressure sensitive.

Constant volume is assured by PRC's exclusive Portion Control; it maintains exact fill weights, even if the product's specific gravity (density) changes.

Product Quality Because of their unique method of portioning and filling, PRC Weight Control Fillers provide an exceptionally gentle fill to produce a quality product. No other filler can fill delicate and easily-damaged products (such as boneless, cooked chicken, sauerkraut, clams, and whole-leaf spinach) as gently, yet as accurately, as the PRC WeightControl Filler.

The product flow is simple. Unlike other fillers, the PRC WeightControl Filler contains no valves, sharp cor-ners, restrictions or other product damaging features. Product flows smoothly through the infeed manifold, into the filling station, then gently into the container. When combined with PRC's Twin-Piston Pump/Stuffer, product damage is virtually eliminated.

Versatility PRC Weigh tControl Fillers fill chunky, viscous, stringy, and leafy products—even tough membrane and sinew in pet food. The particle size that can be filled is limited only by the opening of the container.

The PRC Weigh tControl Filler han-dles a variety of rigid and semi-rigid containers. As little as 2 grams or as much as 12 pounds (5.4 kilograms) can be filled.

The optional PRC Automatic Lubri-cation System simplifies the work of machine lubrication. A central grease bank lubricates all points on the ma-chine; the maintenance schedule can be determined by the user. The system helps decrease machine wear from too little grease. It also prevents waste and wear from overgreasing.

When odd-shaped containers must be fed into the filler, or when the flow of cans is not steady, PRC's Powered Infeed Conveyor helps ensure a steady feed of containers. The conveyor drives

13 Tough membrane, sinew and even stringy vegetables are cleanly severed by PRC's exclusive cut-off system. The self-contained shearing knife ensures accurate filling by cutting through any strands of product that do not com-pletely enter the filling station. Also eliminated are stringers trailing over the edge of the can lip that can cause poor seals and contamination.

How the PRC Weight Control Filler Works El Product flows gently under constant pressure from the product pump into the filler's infeed manifold. There are no sharp corners or severe flow reductions to damage product.

la Filling stations, precision-engi-neered piston and body assemblies, are mounted in a rotating cavity plate and pass over the infeed manifold.

la Product pressure raises the filling station piston and fills the cylinder with a preset amount. Air cylinders assist the piston to rise, minimizing the product pressure required. The fill level is controlled by the PRC Por-tion Control, which limits the stroke of the piston.

PRC's Weigh tControl Filler with ceramic components offers greater wear resistance while processing abrasive products such as pet food, mincemeat or wood putty. The ceramic material preserves the integrity of the precision-engineered filling stations, maintaining PRC's superior filling accuracy of ±1/2%.

Ceramics, with a hardness rating of 67-71 on the Rockwell C scale and a density of 5.75gm/cc (ASTM C20-70), can tolerate even the hardest bone, equivalent to 58 on the Rockwell C scale.

USDA and FDA approved, PRC's ceramic components are available as an option on any PRC Weigh tControl Filler model.

Reduces Stringers and Carry-Over

The hard ceramic edge combined with the infeed spout's cutoff knife provides excellent shearing action for tough membrane or sinew. This reduces product loss from poor lid sealing and contamination caused by stringers.

The ceramic material's low micro surface finish reduces product adhesion to the piston and the subsequent loss of product due to carry-over.
