Kingsport, TN, September 12, 2011-- Protokraft today announced the availability of its MATRIX seriesoctal port (16xfiber) optical transceivers with D38999 fiber optic external connector interfaces to improvethe performance and reliability of high speed communication links in harsh environment applications. TheMATRIX series octal port (16xFiber) optical transceivers are available with 16xoptical transmitters,16xoptical receivers or 8xtransmitters + 8xreceivers. The external interface of the MATRIX series octalport (16xfiber) optical transceivers is a D38999/23-21 fiber optic connector with up to 16xM29504/4multimode or single mode fiber optic ports. The internal electrical interface of the MATRIX series octalport optical transceiver is a ribbon coax cable to *Samtec

SMT connector assembly enabling

interconnection to a motherboard, daughter card or backplane. Power to the unit (3.3VDC) is suppliedthrough the Samtec connectors.

Protokraft introduced the MATRIX series octal port (16xfiber) optical transceivers with D38999 fiber opticconnector interfaces for military, aerospace, petrochemical, mining, industrial or utility applications wheresignificant levels of shock, vibration and extreme temperature ranges are experienced. Thesecomponents are designed for use in platforms where small size, weight reduction and resistance to dirt,dust and other contaminants are highly valued.
