THE ABCS OF R-VALUE

R-values tell you the resistance the insulation has to heat flow – coming and going. The higher the R-value, the more resistance it has and the better it insulates. Your home’s geographic location and the part of your home you’re insulating determine what type of insulation you need and its R-value. For example, if you live in Atlanta, Georgia (Zone 3), your attic might need up to R-60 and your walls R-25!
