Types of RNATypes of RNA• Messenger RNA (mRNA)
– Involved in transcription (1st stage of protein synthesis)– “Photocopies” the DNA and carries message from DNA
in nucleus to ribosome in cytoplasm
• Ribosomal RNA (rRNA)– Makes up the ribosomes
• Transfer RNA (tRNA)– carries amino acids to mRNA
