Materials: Two ballons, a ball of string, two sheets of A4 paper, a roll of tape and a raw egg.

Aim: Group cooperation

Procedure: 1. Group your students in small groups.2. Each group is given the aforementioned materials.3. Using only the material provided, they must figure

out how to drop the egg onto the floor.

4. They must drop the egg with an extended arm while standing on a chair. To do so, they can protect the egg any way they want. The only thing they cannot do is lower the egg with the string!

Notes:

• They must of course only speak English.• This activity is a great way to lead into a discussion on teamwork and problem solving skills. They are constantly having to listen and give instructions.• You can also have them act like a reserach team that need to name their product and create a team name pushing the team spirit thing.• Hold up a red card if you listen to any other language different to English!
