About Indian Institute of Infrastructure & Construction (IIIC)

THE NEED FOR SKILL DEVELOPMENTThe infrastructure sector has a shortage of around 3 million project professionals. To meet this demand, there is a need for appropriately qualified and skilled professionals. A pool of trained professionals is needed across various job levels in the infrastructure value chain. Anticipating addressing this shortage and to make the talent pool employable, Government of Kerala took the initiative of establishing a Centre of Excellence in Infrastructure and Construction. This centre of excellence is IIIC.

Indian Institute of Infrastructure and Construction (IIIC) is a unique model for skill development in the country and is emerging as a potential destination for unemployed youth to bridge their skill gap. It is a joint venture of the Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE) under the Department of Labour, Govt. of Kerala and Uralungal Labour Contract Cooperative Society Ltd (ULCCS). IIIC is offering customized and stakeholder-based courses in tune with the market demand. IIIC’s working through academia industry interface and is involved in bridging the gap between available skills and required skills among the educated youth. Moreover, IIIC will facilitate opportunities for placement for students of the Technical, Supervisory and Managerial level courses.

Advanced Certificate Program in Bar Bending and Steel FixingThis course captures the knowledge required for performing the job of a bar bender which includes many activities like cutting, bending and fabrication of reinforcement steel as per drawing. 4. Assistant Electrician -Level 3 Leading to KSELB Wireman Licensing

This course is designed and developed for imparting the basic skills and knowledge relevant to a construction electrician, thereby equipping the candidate to perform the assigned job roles in the industry. This course is a combination of hands-on sessions and theory-based modules with very much importance to safety aspects as well as Electrical Standards and Statutes. The candidates who successfully complete this 5-month course will receive NSDC Level 3 Assistant Electrician certificate and will be eligible for applying the wireman license issued by the Kerala State Electricity Licensing Board, (KSELB).• Minimum educational qualification: 10th Pass• Experience: Not required• Course Duration: 5 months• Course fee: Rs. 57,000 (Including GST)

5. Construction Welder-TIG/MIG-Level 4 Training in construction welding for fresher’s and

6. Assistant Surveyor-Level 3 Surveyor plays an integral role in the construction

field. Assistant surveyor is responsible for providing support in various surveying activities undertaken on site before and during construction works. This training program develops skill and knowledge to identify, select, use and store appropriate tools and instruments as per instruction given by surveyor.

7. Quality Control Technician Quality Control Technician is responsible
