College of Applied Business, founded in1998, by a group of experienced educationistsand professionals, is a non-profit institution committed toexcellence. The college believes that competent and excellentmanpower is a pre-requisite for overall development of the nation. Besides, well-versed students with high moral values and in-depth knowledge of differentsubjects areas will be better placed in the society. They will also find it easier topursue further education at reputed learning centers.
Appropriate teaching, learning modules are used to make CAB studentscompetent. Seminars, researches, field works and the presentations are regularfeatures that complement teaching-learning in the college.
CAB offers four-year BBS, BIM, BBA and B.Sc. CSIT courses of Tribhuvan University.
Faculty members in CAB who are mostly full-time will guide the students in regularresearch works. Classes have been supplemented by regular guest lecturing fromsenior faculty members and personalities from real business world.
CAB has signed the Transfer Credit Agreement with the State University of NewYork (SUNY) at Plattsburgh, USA. CAB students, if they desire, will be able to transferup to 60 Cr/Hrs to SUNY. This will facilitate CAB students to complete US educationin two years of time.
The Board of Trustees of CAB governs theoverall management of the college byformulating policies, rules and regulationsregarding admissions, academic needsand employment. The Principal asexecutive head is responsible for the dailyoperation of the institution.

CAB offers four-year (eight-semesters) undergraduate course in InformationTechnology of Tribhuvan University. The Bachelor of Information Management(BIM) is an integrated course with a blend of Management education with recentdevelopments in Information Technology.

BBA is a four-year (eight-semester) regular course of Tribhuvan University (TU).
It has a broad-based, cross-functional education in Business, Economics andInformation Technology designed to prepare students for much neededadvanced middle-level leadership in both private and public sectors of thenational and international economy. As an undergraduate business course, itprovides students opportunity for experimental learning by narrowing downdifferences between theory and practice.

B.Sc. CSIT is comparatively a newprogram CAB has introduced forstudents having pursued Science asmajor in the Plus Two or PCL orequivalent. This is a four-year (eight-semester) course of Institute of Scienceand Technology of TribhuvanUniversity, and is a highly competitivedegree in Information Technology.After completion of this course,students will have threefoldopportunity to pursue higher studies forcareer advancement. Assignments
Students must meet a minimum 80% attendance in each subject to be qualifiedfor the final examinations.
Students must secure at least pass marks in all subjects in the sent-up examinations,including all non-credit courses as offered by the College to appear in theUniversity Examinations.
Students must submit all assignments within the given time. Evaluation will bebased on these works and will be counted for sent-up examinations and for otherCAB facilities, such as scholarships.

Discipline
Students must carry college identity cards to produce on demand. In case anidentity card is lost, it should be reported to administration immediately for aduplicate copy upon payment of Rs. 100.
Students are required to wear the uniform at all times in the College and formalprograms outside the college. The uniform comprises of white shirt, grey trousers,blue blazer coat, a tie with college insignia, and white socks and black leathershoes.
Students indulging in acts against the academic interest and interest of thecollege are liable to disciplinary actions that may include expulsion or suspensionfrom the college. Such acts may imply the following:

Method and medium of instructionTo promote student-centered learning, CAB has regular features like seminars,guest lectures on subjects of topical interest, research and surveys, and variousother methods to complement the classroom teaching. Various audio visual-aidsare used to strengthen the methods applied in teaching-learning; English is themedium of instruction and general communication.
Student councilStudent Council contributes to extra-curricular activities of students throughthe development, implementationand evaluation of social, cultural andrecreational programs. The Council isformed with representatives from eachclass. Office bearers of the Councilincluding President, Vice President,Secretary, and Treasurer are electedfrom among the class representatives.

Guest lectures
CAB involves students in research work from the beginning of an academicsession. The research work is supplementary/ complementary to the term test andis done on the recommendation of the subject teachers. Annual and semester fees
The college will raise a bill for the whole year at the time of admission. The annualfee, admission fee and other fees shall be payable on the date of admission.However, the tuition fee may be paid in advance on monthly/quarterlyinstallments. Tuition fee being paid in next quarter will be liable to a fine of Rs. 1000for the first 15 days, and Rs. 4000 thereafter. Non-payment of tuition fees for twosuccessive quarters will result into automatic cancellation of registration.

At the end of ongoing semester, final date of admission for the coming semesterwill be announced. The admit card for the semester examination will accompanywith the admission details. Students failing to get admission on the due date shallbe liable for fine and have to pay Rs. 1000 for the first 15 days, and Rs. 4000thereafter.
Withdrawal and refundsPayments made are non-refundable. CAB shall notentertain any reason put forwardfor cancellation or withdrawal.

Scholarship
The National Chair 2017
In recognition of the valued inspiration of founder Chairman Late Hari BhaktaShrestha, the Board of Trustees of College of Applied Business has instituted anannual scholarship program to study TU affiliated BBA degree at CAB. Thisscholarship will be available to the candidate selected through nationalcompetition. The selected candidate will have opportunity to complete the four-year BBA degree with no cost except TU service charges and Student Council fees.
Students receiving this scholarship shall have to maintain a GPA of 3.7 throughoutthe whole course.
CAB awards a number of scholarships to its students. Some of these scholarshipsare awarded on merit basis so that good performance is rewarded andencouraged. A few are however reserved for the financially needy / under-privileged. The following scholarships are available for this year.

One scholarship in each level for a year covering monthly tuition fees will beawarded for securing highest marks, above 70% in first term examinations in BBS firstyear. The recipient of the scholarship may apply for refund of tuition fees alreadypaid.
One scholarship in each level for a year is available for the students securinghighest marks above 65% in the BBS first year examination. Likewise, onescholarship is awarded for the duration of second semester to the student securinghighest grade above SGPA 3.7 in the first semester. However, students getting suchscholarships must pass with at least 70% in all the tests, including unit tests for thescholarship to continue. Likewise, such scholarship will be awarded to the studentsecuring highest marks in second semester the same condition will prevail for everysubsequent semesters up to the seventh semester.
