Planning of props, equipment, location

and actors

When planning props I knew that for a horror film they had to be as realistic as possible, so I used a real bonfire in the opening sequence to create the tension and atmosphere of ‘The deliverance’.

I needed a lot of fake blood for the majority of gore scenes, with the bloody knife and the dead victims. I made this by mixing red food colouring with water, corn flour and syrup.

No other props were really used apart from painting sheets for the body covers and make-up.

PROPS

An addressed letter addressed to my main character was created just using a basic envelop of a table with a fake address with New York’s zip code.

LOCATION

The locations used were the Willis building in town as to be as compatible as possible to the New York News building.

New York Studio Willis, Ipswich

The other locations were just my ordinary dining room to create the breakfast scene and my garden with a back drop to create the light effect as if in a news studio for the news scenes.

ACTORS

My actors were chosen as they had to be old enough to be realistically news reporters and a scientist and his wife. I thought that using my parents would be a easy way to have access to them and the surrounding scenes and to be old enough for the part.

Whereas the rest of the characters were used as victims of the infected people and were varying as they were of different ages.
