Overview of Changes
• PTCS Provider requirements/duties enumerated (major addition)
• Technician reporting requirements more completely described
• Duct location designation made more generic• Controls section slightly expanded and clarified• Refrig. charge section expanded and clarified• Wording changes added throughout to distinguish
between new installs and service

Duct Language Changes
• Section 3.2
• Unconditioned/cond-

Controls Changes/Addition
• Was Section 4.3/4.4; now Section 5• Aux heat staging/sequencing language removed• Added sentence to clearly specify no aux heat
allowed in Stage 1 call• Single capacity compressor: added explicit
sentence saying discharge air sensor control not allowed
• Multi-stage compressor: added option to allow discharge air sensor staging temperature warmer than 85° F (current req) as long as ODT is installed
Refrigerant Checks (formerly Section 5.4, now Section 7)
• Complying methods now more specific:– Operating pressures (year-
round)– Capacity check (ditto)– Superheat/subcooling
