Yes Solid Waste:

The solid waste generated from the projectwill be domestic in nature.

Construction Waste:

Left over cement and mortars, cementconcrete blocks, aggregate, sand and otherinorganic material will be recycled and reusedas granular sub base (GSB) layer ofpavement. Earth rendered surplus from theexcavation will be utilized in the embankmentworks.

Operational Phase:

Solid wastes which are likely to be generatedin project will be domestic in nature.

Domestic wastes:

The total solid waste generated from theproject in the form of garbage (dry & wet) willbe 2166 kg/day. Solid Waste garbagegenerated from residential/permanentpopulation will be 2052 kg/day & 114 kg/dayfrom visitors / floating population (which iscalculated @ 450 gm/person/day forresidential/permanent population & @ 250gm/person/day for visitors / floatingpopulation respectively, as per the norms ofMoEF’s Manual on Norms & Standards forEnvironment Clearance of Large ConstructionProjects).

Liquid Effluent:

During construction phase: sewage will betreated and disposed through septic tankswith soak pits.

During operation phase: Total 345 KLD ofwaste water will be generated which will betreated in the Sewage Treatment Plant (STP)having total capacity of 380 KLD up to tertiarylevel.

Dewatered/ dried sludge from STP will beused as manure in horticulture after properdigestion.

Hazardous Wastes:

No hazardous wastes will be produced fromproject activities except some Spent Oil



(Category 5.1) generated from D.G. sets; itwill be sold to recyclers authorized by StatePollution Control Board.

The project site is well connected by networkof roads leading to various parts of state.Thus, no new road will be laid duringconstruction or operation of the projectactivities except internal roads & pathways forsmooth movement of Vehicles & personals.

Yes Spent Oil from D.G. sets will be carefully storedin High Density Poly Ethylene (HDPE) drums inisolated covered facility. This spent oil will besold to vendors authorized for the treatment ofsame. Suitable care will be taken so that spills /leaks of spent oil from storage could be avoided.

The used oil generated from DG set will bedisposed off as per H.W. (M & H) Rules, 1989.

Yes This will be restricted to the construction phase andto the construction site only. Though, it will benegligible in amount as it will occur from theequipments movement involved in the construction,still suitable preventive measure will be taken.

Yes Dust is likely to be generated during construction.Water sprinkler and tarpaulin covers will be providedover stored raw material to reduce dust emission.

Sets will beinstalled in acoustic enclosures with proper paddingsystem to reduce vibration impact.

Yes Due to the various construction activities, there willbe short-term noise impacts in the immediatevicinity of the project site. The constructionactivities will include the following noise generatingactivities:

1. The projects involving clearance under Coastal Regulation Zone Notification, 1991 shall submitwith the application a C.R.Z map duly demarcated by one of the authorized agencies, showingthe project activities, w.r.t. C.R.Z (at the stage of TOR) and the recommendations of the StateCoastal Zone Management Authority (at the stage of EC). Simultaneous action shall also betaken to obtain the requisite clearance under the provisions of the C.R.Z Notification, 1991 forthe activities to be located in the CRZ.

2. The projects to be located within 10 km of the National Parks, Sanctuaries, BiosphereReserves, Migratory Corridors of Wild Animals, the project proponent shall submit the mapduly authenticated by Chief Wildlife Warden showing these features vis-a-vis the projectlocation and the recommendations or comments of the Chief Wildlife Warden "thereon (at thestage of EC)."

3. All correspondence with the Ministry of Environment & Forests including submission "ofapplication for TOR/Environmental Clearance, subsequent clarifications, as may be requiredfrom time to time, participation in the EAC Meeting on behalf of the project proponent shall bemade by the authorized signatory only. The authorized signatory should also submit adocument in support of his claim of being an authorized signatory for the specific project".
