Background
A lot of research work done by students goes unreported because of lack of facility to publish
A repository of research work is needed
Economics department would like to propose the first ever RTC Student Journal
Objectives
1. To recognize, retain and publish scholarly work of RTC students
2. To promote greater academic discourse at RTC
3. To motivate students to produce scientific research as a part of their course work
Proposal SummaryMain coordinators: Sanjeev Mehta (Head of Social Science), Sonal Mehta (Faculty of Mathematics department) and Tanveer Reza Rouf (Faculty of Economics and Social Science)
Frequency of publication: Annual (every Spring semester)
Target group: All students of RTC
Editorial team: The coordinators would request some faculty member for reviewing/editing the work as and when required
Structure of journalo Multi-disciplinary journal for students
o An annual publication
o Either in English or Dzongkha
o Research based papers
Timeline
February 28: Call for papers
March 31: deadline for submitting papers
April 30: deadline for review work completion
May 15: Final draft of accepted papers to be ready
May 30: Final copy of journal sent for printing
June 30: Journal ready for publication 10 days prior to Graduation Day
Future plan
Upgrade to a national level journal
To create a dedicated journal for teachers
